Are you a recent graduate or early career engineer eager to work on cutting edge technologies? The Quantum Innovation Centre at A*STAR is looking for an independent and motivated Mechanical Engineer to join our team in developing next generation quantum sensors for real world applications.

About the Role

As a mechanical engineer, you will be part of a multi disciplinary and collaborative team working on the design, assembly, and testing of optomechanical components. You will gain hands on experience and be mentored by experienced engineers and scientists in a supportive and intellectually stimulating environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist in the design of optomechanical sub components and mechanical housings for quantum sensors using computer assisted design (CAD) tools.
  • Support the assembly and testing of mechanical and thermal systems for quantum sensors.
  • Oversee the procurement of relevant goods and services, including liaising with vendors.
  • Collaborate with physicists, electronics engineers, and other team members to ensure seamless integration of mechanical components.
  • Learn and grow under the guidance of a dedicated supervisor, gaining valuable industry experience in a high tech R&D setting.
Job Requirements
  • Bachelor or Master degree in Mechanical Engineering, Thermal Engineering, Optical Physics, Applied Physics, or a related field.
  • Some experience with CAD software (e.g., FreeCAD, SolidWorks, Autodesk Inventor, or similar).
  • Strong interest in precision engineering and emerging technologies.
  • Good organizational and communication skills.
  • A proactive, hands on attitude and willingness to learn.
