Job description

iO3 is a fast-growing maritime technology company delivering advanced digital solutions and satellite connectivity to modern fleets worldwide. Operating at the intersection of shipping, IT, and next-generation connectivity, we support shipowners and operators in modernizing vessel operations, improving reliability, and staying ahead of regulatory and cyber requirements.

We are seeking a Solutions Engineer to join our Solutions Team, playing a key role from pre-sales through to successful onboard implementation. This position operates in a fast-moving, high-impact environment, supporting the design and delivery of maritime digital solutions deployed across a global fleet.

As a Solutions Engineer, you will work closely with commercial and technical stakeholders to design fit-for-purpose digital solutions, translate operational requirements into practical system architectures, and support customers through onboarding and implementation. You will act as a technical bridge between sales, engineering, and operations teams to ensure solutions are delivered consistently and perform as intended in real-world maritime environments.

Job Scope
  • Assist in the preparation, installation, configuration, and testing of maritime digital solution systems during pre-deployment and onboard implementation phases.
  • Support solution implementation activities from pre-sales handover through commissioning and go-live.
  • Provide proactive remote support and troubleshooting to vessels and shore teams, ensuring timely issue resolution.
  • Perform basic to intermediate network configuration, including IP addressing, VLANs, Wi‑Fi SSIDs, firewall rules, and routing, in accordance with approved designs and templates.
  • Support integration of digital solutions with onboard systems, sensors, cameras, and third-party platforms where applicable.
  • Coordinate with internal engineering, operations, and project teams to ensure smooth solution delivery and alignment with customer requirements.
  • Assist with vessel onboarding processes, including system validation, connectivity checks, and user acceptance support.
  • Prepare and maintain technical documentation, including as-built diagrams, configuration records, test results, and handover reports.
  • Support post-implementation stabilization and knowledge transfer to operations or support teams.
  • Participate in solution testing, proof-of-concept trials, and continuous improvement of solution designs and deployment standards.
Requirements
  • Physically fit and comfortable boarding vessels for site support activities (typically a few days per month); onboard allowance provided.
  • Basic understanding of IP networking concepts, including LAN/WAN, TCP/IP, routing, switching, VLANs, and Wi‑Fi.
  • Familiarity with network devices such as routers, switches, and firewalls; knowledge of Linux fundamentals and/or IP cameras, NVRs, and related systems is an advantage.
  • Ability to work independently with a high level of responsibility, including preparing clear and accurate documentation for work completed.
  • Willingness to travel occasionally to shipyards, ports, and customer offices, and to work outside normal business hours when required for installations or commissioning (additional allowances provided).
  • Strong interpersonal skills with good written and verbal communication abilities, able to engage effectively with customers, vendors, and internal teams.
  • A collaborative team player with a proactive mindset and willingness to learn in a fast-paced technical environment.
  • Singaporeans or Singapore PR only.
