EDUCATION and EXPERIENCE
- Degree in Mechatronics or Manufacturing or Mechanical Engineering
- Minimum 3 years of experience in manufacturing of electro-mechanical products, preferably in manufacturing of Life Science Instruments.
- Fresh graduates are encouraged to apply
Roles & Responsibilities
To Perform the following NPI Activities:
- Liaise with R&D/NPI Engineers and customer during NPI stage to roll out activities for Product Transfer from NPI Phase to Mass Production
- Production Line setup and equipment planning for new project launch, define manufacturing line lay‑out, sourcing for tooling, fixtures and equipment and prepare CAPEX for NPI build
- Setting up shop floor control Data Gating system (DGS)
- Generate Manufacturing Instructions for mass Production build
- Perform assembly and test cycle time and touch time analysis
- Plan and assist to execute Prototype builds, Engineering builds/ Pilot Builds and channel the necessary feedback to the product design team to resolve any product issues
- Provide DFM / PFMEA feedback and assembly Jigs/Fixture Qualification & buyoff for Production
To Perform the following sustaining engineering activities related to manufacturing of assigned platforms:
- Monitor and Improve Assembly and Test First Pass yield to meet or exceed the targets.
- Perform First Level Failure Analysis of Production Fallouts and follow up closely to resolve line issues quickly without impacting production output.
- Provide training to Production Line Leaders/Operators on assembly and test Processes
- Keep shop floor MES up-to-date by resolving day-to-day issues or changes arising from Engineering Changes.
- Creating and Updating Assembly and Test Process documentations
- Manage Preventive Maintenance of production line tools, jigs & fixtures and Testers
- Follow up on equipment Calibration/Replacement to ensure compliance
- Apply Lean manufacturing concept to minimize the waste of material and labour
- Initiate and work on Continuous Improvement opportunity: Cycle Time/Cost Reduction and /or Quality improvement
- Preparation of Weekly and Monthly Reports of Production Performance and presentation to Customer
JOB-RELATED SKILLS & PRE-REQUISITES
- Knowledge of Medical or Life Science Instrument Manufacturing and exposure to ISO 13485 / US FDA 21 CFR.
- Validation of Production Processes and Equipment (Testers, Jigs & Fixtures)
- EE component and circuitry knowledge, EE test and measurement know-how in using various test equipment for troubleshooting EE issues (DMM, oscilloscope, spectrum analyzer etc)
- Possess mechanical assembly know-how, able to apply DFM/DFA/PFMEA study
- Possess logical thinking with systematic approach in problem solving
- Able to use SPC tools such as Minitab or SQC Pack to analyse production data
- Prior experience in LEAN or Six Sigma, certified practitioner will be an added advantage
