Job summary

A leading recruitment agency in Singapore is seeking an experienced individual to support category strategy execution in the beauty sector. You will collaborate with global brands, assist in sourcing emerging brands, and handle business analytics. The ideal candidate possesses a bachelor's degree and over 6 years of relevant experience. This role offers a working duration of 3 months with potential extension.

• Support the Asia Merchandising Director in developing and implementing category strategies.
• Collaborate closely with global brands to ensure smooth operational execution across Asia.
• Assist in sourcing and incubating emerging Asian beauty brands.
• Support in maintaining oversight of the merchandising budget.
• Work with the Merchandising Analytics team to analyze category performance.
• Assist in preparing for key global strategic meetings.
• Contribute to the development of the Asia product development calendar.

Job description

Duration: 3 months (Extendable)

Location: Orchard

Working Hours: Monday - Friday 8.30am to 5.30pm

Responsibilities

• Category Strategy & Execution: Support the Asia Merchandising Director in developing and implementing category strategies, ensuring alignment with global objectives while addressing regional needs.
• Global Brand Management: Collaborate closely with global brands to ensure smooth operational execution across Asia, addressing logistical or market-specific challenges.
• Incubation Brand Sourcing: Assist in the sourcing, evaluation, and incubation of emerging Asian beauty brands (e.g., C-beauty, K-beauty) to enhance product assortment and drive innovation.
• Merchandising Fund Management: Support in maintaining oversight of the merchandising budget, ensuring responsible allocation and tracking of investments in key brands.
• Business Analytics: Work with the Merchandising Analytics team to analyze category performance, identify trends, and recommend opportunities for improvement.
• Strategic Business Support: Assist in preparing for key global strategic meetings, including data analysis, presentation preparation, and development of insights.
• Product Development & Calendar: Contribute to the development of the Asia product development and animation calendar, ensuring alignment with market trends and consumer preferences.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in business, marketing, or related field.
• At least 6 years of experience in merchandising, buying, brand sourcing, or category management, ideally within the beauty or retail industry.
• Strong analytical skills and proven ability to interpret data and generate actionable insights.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence stakeholders at all levels.
