Job description
What the role is:

You monitor and analyse media coverage and online discussions across various media outlets and platforms and identify trending conversations and issues of interest that have potential operational, policy, and reputational repercussions on MINDEF, SAF and Singapore’s defence.

What you will be working on:
  • Provide timely updates, analysis, and recommendations
  • Produce regular and ad-hoc reports, tracking dashboards, and in-depth analyses
  • Conduct risk assessments of significant issues of concern
  • Support decision‑making and strategic communications planning
  • Identifying and sense‑making key indicators/issues of interest
  • Curating information into products for top MINDEF/SAF management
  • Making recommendations to support high‑level decision‑making
What we are looking for:
  • Good understanding of the media landscape
  • Interest in political, defence, and security developments in Singapore and the region
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office
  • Excellent command of spoken and written English
  • Ability to handle stress
  • Capacity to think quickly in crisis situations
  • Sharp and analytical mind
  • Proficiency in a vernacular language is advantageous
  • Expertise with social media platforms is advantageous
  • Willingness to perform rotational duties (Applicants with no experience may apply.)
