Job summary

An international insurance company in Singapore is seeking a seasoned professional with at least 10 years of experience in the General Insurance industry to lead special projects and deliver exceptional customer service in both Japanese and English. The role requires fluency in Japanese to handle various client inquiries and develop lasting relationships. The ideal candidate will be organized, capable of multi-tasking, and proficient in Microsoft Office. This position offers an opportunity to enhance service quality and engage with diverse clients.

Qualifications

  • At least 10 years of experience in General Insurance industry.
  • Good understanding of doing Japanese business.
  • Able to work independently and interact with different levels of customers.

Responsibilities

  • Lead Special Projects to enhance service quality of the Japanese Business.
  • Report regularly to Head Office in Tokyo in Japanese.
  • Underwrite and specialize in Marine Hull and other general insurance classes.
  • Provide customer service in Japanese to clients on inquiries, requests, and claims.
  • Develop good relationships with clients to maintain and enhance business.

Job description
Roles & Responsibilities
  1. Lead and in-charge the Special Projects such as:
    • To enhance the service quality of the Japanese Business;
    • To establish customer benefit services with vendors;
    • To introduce Japanese hospitality and culture to our employees, distribution channel, clients and society.
  2. Report in Japanese regularly to our Head Office in Tokyo.
  3. Underwrites and specialize in Marine Hull and other general insurance classes.
  4. Provide customer service in Japanese to Japanese clients on their inquiries, requests, complaints and claims matters.
  5. Provide Japanese language support to staff in other departments, where appropriate.
  6. Provide administrative support.
  7. Plan and organize visitations to clients (new business/renewal/claims happenings).
  8. Develop good relationship with clients to maintain and enhance existing clients’ business.
  9. Plan renewal strategies for Japanese corporate clients.
  10. Prepare underwriting quotations to clients in accordance with the Company’s underwriting guidelines.
  11. Prepare referral form, issue Cover Notes and collect of premiums.
  12. Maintain clients’ details and information.
Job Requirements
  1. Minimum Degree Holder qualification;
  2. At least 10 years of experience in General Insurance industry;
  3. Fluent in written and spoken English and Japanese for handling local and Japanese clients;
  4. Good understanding of doing Japanese business;
  5. Possess good interpersonal and communication skills;
  6. Able to multi-task, and is a team player, conscientious, tactful and willing to learn new skills;
  7. Organized and has the ability to work under pressure;
  8. Able to work independently and interact with different levels of customers;
  9. Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office application.
