Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years of experience as Finance Manager in Liner/Feeder Shipping industry.
• Proficient in preparing full set of accounts.
• Experienced in group consolidation.

Responsibilities

• Ensure timely reconciliations of monthly statements including AP, AR, and GL.
• Perform analysis of monthly financial data and prepare management reports.
• Work with auditors on compliance and annual filings.
• Review financials and management reporting for subsidiary companies.

Job purpose

The Manager – Finance is responsible for the full spectrum of finance and accounting duties including monthly consolidation of group companies and management reporting.

Main tasks and responsibilities

Reconciliation of Accounts

• AP, AR, GL Reconciliation, Monthly & Yearly Closing, Management & Statutory Reporting. Ensure timely reconciliations of monthly statements
• Monitor reconciliation of bank statements, vendors, customers, overseas agents as well as subsidiary companies’ account
• Propose solutions for outstanding unreconciled items
• Propose improvements in the reconciliation process to eliminate inefficiencies for future reconciliations

Financial Analysis

• Performs analysis of monthly financial data, actual, forecasts and annual budgets
• Fully accountable for the preparation of management reports

Internal Audit and External Audit

• Work with auditors/ tax agents on audit and tax matters including compliance with annual filings
• Maintain proper accounting records and documentations for audit and ensure compliance and alignment of accounting policies and procedures with the government regulations (filing of financial records)

Review and consolidation of subsidiary companies

• Supervises and review financials, cashflow and management reporting for subsidiary companies
• Support any other ad hoc projects or tasks allocated

Education requirements

• Diploma/Advanced/Higher/Graduate in Finance/Accountancy orequivalent
• Skilled in Shipping-related accounting software - SAP, Tally,finance module in logistics/ shipping environment
• MS Office – Advanced Excel

Background and experience

• 5 plus years Finance Manager experience within the Liner/Feeder Shipping environment
• 5 plus years in the accounting field in preparing full set of accounts
• Experienced in Group consolidation
