Job description

1. Project Planning & Coordination

• Coordinate mechanical and electrical works with architects, consultants, contractors, and suppliers
• Review project drawings, specifications, and tender documents
• Ensure M&E works comply with Singapore regulations (e.g., BCA, SCDF, PUB, EMA)

2. Mechanical & Electrical System Design

• Assist in design, sizing, and selection of M&E systems such as:
  HVAC (air-conditioning & ventilation)
  Electrical distribution & lighting
  Fire protection systems
  Plumbing & sanitary systems
  ACMV, BMS, lift/escalator systems (depending on project)

3. Site Supervision & Quality Control

• Monitor installation work for compliance with approved plans
• Conduct site inspections, testing & commissioning (T&C)
• Resolve technical or coordination issues on site
• Check workmanship quality and ensure safety standards are met

4. Technical Documentation

• Prepare method statements, shop drawings, and submission documents
• Update as-built drawings upon project completion
• Produce technical reports, inspection forms, T&C reports

5. Procurement & Cost Control

• Evaluate quotations from suppliers and subcontractors
• Recommend M&E materials and equipment
• Track project budget and prevent cost overruns

6. Maintenance (for Facilities/Building M&E Engineers)

• Oversee preventive and corrective maintenance of building systems
• Troubleshoot M&E faults (HVAC, electrical, plumbing, lift issues)
• Optimise energy usage and ensure system reliability
