Job Description
1. Remote Monitoring of Autonomous Bus Operations
- Oversee and monitor up to five autonomous buses simultaneously via the teleoperations console.
- Maintain situational awareness of vehicle status, route conditions, and system alerts in real time.
- Ensure all AV buses operate safely and in accordance with service protocols and regulatory standards.
2. System Prompt Response and Incident Management
- Respond promptly to system-generated alerts, anomalies, or intervention requests.
- Execute remote commands or escalate issues to on-ground teams as required.
- Coordinate with Safety Operators and technical teams to manage incidents effectively and ensure service continuity.
3. Operational Compliance and Safety Assurance
- Adhere to all SOPs, safety protocols, and regulatory requirements governing AV operations.
- Log and report incidents, interventions, and system behaviours accurately and in a timely manner.
- Participate in regular audits and reviews to ensure operational integrity.
4. Communication and Coordination
- Maintain clear and professional communication with site leads, Safety Operators, and support teams.
- Provide remote support and guidance to field personnel during operational disruptions or emergencies.
- Collaborate with technical teams to troubleshoot and resolve system-level issues.
5. Training and System Familiarisation
- Participate in ongoing training on AV platforms, teleoperations systems, and emergency procedures.
- Stay informed on updates to AV software, hardware, and operational protocols.
6. Data Logging and Feedback
- Record operational data, system responses, and intervention outcomes to support performance analysis.
- Provide feedback to engineering and operations teams to support continuous improvement.
7. Flexibility and Multi-Site Support
- Be available for remote operations across multiple sites as required.
- Accept reassignment or redeployment to other roles, locations, or duties as directed by management.
8. Documentation and Process Development
- Contribute to the development and refinement of Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for AV remote operations.
- Support the creation of training materials and competency assessments for new and existing operators.
- Ensure accurate and timely logging of operational data and incidents to support audits and performance reviews.
- Collaborate with technical and operations teams to document system feedback and improvement suggestions.
- Assist in preparing site-specific playbooks and remote support guidelines for multi-site operations.
Qualifications and Requirements
- Holds a Class 4 Driving Licence and a Qualified Driving Licence for more than 24 months.
- Prior experience in fleet operations, control room environments, or AV systems is an advantage.
- Strong situational awareness and ability to make quick, sound decisions under pressure.
- Proficient in using monitoring systems, dashboards, and communication tools.
- Flexibility to accept reassignment or redeployment as required.
- Excellent communication and coordination skills.
- Willingness to work shifts, weekends, and in a control room setting.
