Job summary

A leading investment firm in Singapore is seeking an experienced in-house legal counsel to provide legal support on acquisitions and investments. The role requires a minimum of 6 years of experience in a law firm or in-house setting with a strong focus on M&A and corporate investment. Responsibilities include drafting transaction agreements, supporting due diligence, and overseeing legal operations. Ideal candidates will demonstrate strong commercial skills in a fast-paced environment and possess excellent communication abilities.

Qualifications

• At least 6 years of post-qualification experience gained in a leading law firm and/or in-house with strong M&A/Corporate/Investment Funds experience.
• Strong commercial perspective in dealing with complex legal/investment issues.
• Self-starter with sound judgment, commercial and risk awareness.

Job description

We are recruiting for an Asia Pacific Real Estate Fund and with exponential growth expected in their key logistics business, they are now seeking an in-house legal counsel.

You will be reporting to the CEO directly and partnering very closely with the Head of Investments. You will provide legal support with a strong commercial angle in their acquisitions.

This will include drafting and negotiating transaction agreements in relation to fund investment and/or services providers, and support the investment team in their deal due diligence, etc. You will also be participating in onboarding of new investors during fund raising process, including interacting and negotiating directly with prospects LPs and relevant documentations.

You will also be providing a wide range of legal support to the business teams on a range of operational matters, including reviewing tenders/general contracts, and corporate governance/secretarial work. You will participate in special projects and manage external legal parties as well as getting involved in project financing and other M&A activities.

Requirements

• At least 6 years of post-qualification experience gained in a leading law firm and/or in-house with strong M&A / Corporate/ Investment Funds experience.
• Strong commercial perspective in dealing with complex legal/investment issues.
• Self‑starter with sound judgment, commercial and risk awareness.
• Able to multi‑task and manage numerous, complex financial transactions including private equity / M&A deals, fund formation, financing and capital fundraising.
• Interpersonal and communication skills with a growth‑oriented mindset, able to thrive in a fast‑paced environment.
