As a Realtime Defect Analysis (RDA) Technology Development Equipment & Applications Manager in F10 NAND TD, you will lead a team in the use of next-generation defect detection equipment and processes to identify and solve issues. The goal of this position is to accelerate cycles of learning and technology transfer in Technology Development. We need leaders who are passionate about developing their team, delivering solutions to our internal customers, and driving our supplier's road maps to meet our future inspection needs. This position will provide the opportunity for you to collaborate with process integration, process development, data science, and yield analysis within and outside Technology Development. As a Technology Development RDA Lead, your leadership and innovation will have the ability to impact the team globally. You and your team will be responsible to support experimentation, data analysis, baseline health metrics, and systematic and random defect improvement through partnering with others in Technical Development and Global Manufacturing.
Qualifications
Successful candidates for this position will be someone who
- Bachelor’s or Master's degree in Physics, Electrical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, or Materials Science & Engineering
- 6 years RDA experience in the semiconductor industry working in the process side and Equipment/Applications side
- 3 years of vendor engagement to drive tool capabilities meeting program needs
- Expert level process and equipment RDA knowledge in 3D NAND development
- Detailed knowledge of eScan and BSE Inspection tool functionality and detection techniques
- Clear knowledge of RDA Optical and EBI inspection tool sets to drive detection solutions for the process teams
- Proven experience in enabling defect detection gap closures on complex issues
- Demonstrated project leadership to drive cross functional teams
- Understanding the dynamics of RDA Technology Transfers between Technical Development and New Product Engineering HVM Teams

- Develop inspection technology roadmaps to drive our internal and external partners enabling a clear path to future advanced memory needs.
- Manage projects internal to your team and across functional areas.
- Direct your team to recognize, identify, and raise awareness of process anomalies.
- Ensure communication of recipe and tool status to the relevant engineering groups and collaborate with engineering teams on continuous improvement plans (CIP) and options to allow for faster cycles of learning.
- Drive vendors to improve equipment availability and efficiency, hold them accountable through good project management and improve reporting and metrics as needed to accomplish the same.
- Coordinate projects related to process improvements/upgrades or equipment improvements/upgrades and drive them to completion.
- Partner with equipment teams across yield technology to drive innovation of new equipment and techniques as it relates to a specific area or gap.
- Maintain high quality and high efficiency while driving 24/7 process development and process integration support.
- Encourage collaborative efforts to tackle problems, improve efficiency, and increase quality.
- Engage with or direct others to engage with product support groups such as YE/YA Engineering, Probe Engineering, Process Integration, Process Engineering, or Manufacturing Development Engineering to resolve unidentified problems impacting yield of a developing process.
- Build and improve upon detection techniques and identify new ways to use existing tools to identify relevant process issues.
- Improve Detection strategy, system, and methods to continuously strengthen detection performance.
- Enhance Detection capability and strategy to enable Yield improvement, improve Cycle of Learning and strengthen Defense Line.
- Plan and evaluate through supplier demo, tool evaluation or H2H (head-to-head) and promote new equipment/ material through TOR (Tool of Record) process
- Facilitate and drive global peer groups (HVM and TD) to ensure alignment on strategy and roadmap to achieve area objectives
- Create and implement strategies that benefit Micron globally, not just one site.
- Partner with Central Teams and Procurement to drive suppliers' competitiveness to reduce CapEx and OpEx.
- Engage and drive suppliers on Tool roadmap (MRM), Technology sharing, and other projects.
- Active participation in technical meetings and subsequently, synthesize new opportunities or novel approaches from the same.
- Collaborate with the global network to develop best known methods and maintain alignment between sites.
- Proficiency in data analysis, machine learning, and statistical modeling to derive actionable insights from complex datasets is an added advantage.
Oversees the installation, modification, upgrade and maintenance of manufacturing equipment. Maintains current records on equipment manufacturers’ technical notices, upgrades and safety issues. Studies equipment performance and reliability. Establishes programs and solutions for increasing uptime and for equipment problems that affect the manufacturing process. Provides technical support to the manufacturing equipment repair and process engineering organizations.
