Job summary

A leading recruitment consultancy is seeking a Lead PMO to oversee the governance and delivery of a large-scale insurance core system integration programme. You will be responsible for ensuring alignment between strategy, technology, and business outcomes while managing multi-vendor teams and budgets. Ideal candidates will have over 10 years of experience in programme management within IT transformations and a strong understanding of insurance operations. The role requires strong executive presence and the ability to translate complex IT delivery into clear insights.

Qualifications

  • 10+ years in programme management / PMO leadership within large-scale IT transformations.
  • Demonstrated experience leading insurance core system integration or modernization programmes.
  • Strong understanding of insurance operations (underwriting, policy administration, claims, billing).
  • Hands-on exposure to core insurance platforms.
  • Proven ability to manage multi-vendor, multi-geography programmes.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the enterprise PMO for a complex insurance core system integration or replacement programme.
  • Own the integrated master plan, milestones, dependencies, risks, and delivery cadence.
  • Establish and enforce programme governance, reporting, and escalation to ExCo and Steering Committees.
  • Coordinate delivery across core insurance platforms (policy, claims, billing, data, integrations).
  • Oversee system integration, data migration, testing (SIT/UAT), cutover, and go-live readiness.
  • Manage and hold accountable system integrators, vendors, and internal IT teams.
  • Drive proactive risk, issue, and dependency management across all streams.
  • Ensure budget control, forecasting, and delivery against agreed outcomes.
  • Partner with business leaders to ensure operational readiness and post-go-live stability.

Role Overview

The Lead PMO will be responsible for end-to-end governance and delivery of a large-scale insurance core system integration programme. This role provides executive-level oversight across business, IT, and vendor workstreams, ensuring disciplined execution, transparency, and successful delivery of a mission-critical transformation.

The role acts as the single point of accountability for programme execution, enabling alignment between strategy, technology, and business outcomes.

Key Accountabilities
  • Lead the enterprise PMO for a complex insurance core system integration or replacement programme.

  • Own the integrated master plan, milestones, dependencies, risks, and delivery cadence.

Qualifications

  • PMP / PRINCE2 / Agile / SAFe certification preferred.
