Job summary

A leading waste management company in Singapore seeks a laboratory technician responsible for operating the laboratory and conducting chemical testing. This role requires a degree in Chemistry and a minimum of 2 years’ laboratory experience. Candidates with a knowledge of analytical chemistry and experience in hazardous waste management will have an advantage. Job description
Role and Responsibilities
  • Operate the laboratory in the safe, compliant and efficient condition
  • Provide technical support to the interdepartmental HODs, Supervisors, Engineers, Site and sales department.
  • To conduct sampling for incoming, in-process, and outgoing sample.
  • To perform chemical testing of samples with various analytical instruments/ equipment in laboratory.
  • Propose categorization of chemical waste according to analysis result obtained
  • Conduct laboratory bench test for treatment of hazardous waste.
  • Propose treatment method to the operation
  • To provide technical advice including treatment procedure to interested parties.
  • Optimise treatment process
  • To ensure authority compliance (NEA, PUB, SCDF)
  • Provide analytical support
  • Any other adhoc duties as and when delegated by the management.
Requirement and Skills
  • Posses minimum 2 years’ experience in laboratory.
  • Degree in Chemistry
  • Knowledgeable in chemical reactions, analytical chemistry
  • Experience working within a Hazardous Waste environment, Chemical Treatment experience would be beneficial
  • Innovative and research minded
  • Experience in analytical instrument will be added advantages (eg, ICP-OES, GCMS, UV-Vis, Bomb Calorimeter, Dumas, Crude fibre etc.)
  • Chemical safety, classification of chemicals
