Job summary

The candidate will analyze production cost variances, process accounts payable invoices, and assist with month-end closings. The Company

Our client in the manufacturing industry is looking to hire a Cost Accountant.

The Role

The role involves supporting global cost and inventory accounting functions, ensuring accurate cost capture through timely job closures and work order management. It includes analyzing production cost variances, reconciling inventory, and investigating discrepancies during cycle counts in collaboration with operations teams. The position also supports alignment of costing processes between Singapore and Batam, performs cost roll-ups for new materials and components, and maintains standard costs for materials, labor, and overhead in ERP systems.

Responsibilities

Processing accounts payable invoices with correct GL coding, assisting in month‑end closings through journal entries and accruals, and maintaining selected balance sheet schedules. The role supports quarterly GST submissions in compliance with Singapore tax regulations and contributes to annual external audit preparations. It also involves validating accounting data for periodic reporting and performing various ad hoc finance and administrative tasks as needed.

Your Profile

To be successful in this role, you should have a Diploma/Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or Finance, relevant experience in manufacturing costing and general accounting. Knowledge on ERP systems, Epicor, JDE, Microsoft Excel (Pivot Table, Lookup functions) will be advantageous. You should have good communication skills, a positive attitude, self‑motivator and a team player.
