Job summary

An engineering company in Singapore is seeking a Junior Marine Service Engineer to assist with marine automation tasks, including the repair and calibration of devices. Candidates should have a diploma in Electrical or Electronic Engineering and 1-3 years of related experience preferred. Responsibilities involve testing equipment, providing technical support, and preparing service reports. Qualifications

Responsibilities

  • Assist Senior Engineer with job scopes at the Shipyard or Anchorage.
  • Conduct testing for electrical characteristics using various meters.
  • Prepare service reports and update project logs promptly.

Job description
Required Position : Electrical Fitter / JUNIOR Marine Service Engineer [Boiler/ Automation/ IGS]

Salary: Up to $ 2,500 – 3,500

Office Location: West Coast

Office Operating hours: 8:00am – 5:00pm

Responsibilities:
  • Assisting for Senior Engineer’s following job scope ;
  • To attend vessels at the Shipyard / Anchorage, to carry out repair, recalibration and rectify of marine automation and instrumentation devices in accordance with the manufacturer’s instruction for Boiler Combustion Control System, Inert Gas Control System, etc
  • To carry out the testing with electrical characteristics, for example voltage, resistance, mA by using voltmeters, ohmmeters and mA meters
  • To provide both onsite and remote technical support
  • To prepare service report in a timely manner and update the project logs

Requirements:
  • Candidate to possess a Diploma, Advanced/Higher Graduate Diploma, Bachelor's Degree, Post Graduate Diploma, Professional Certificate, NiTEC in Engineering (Electrical / Electronic) or equivalent
  • Able to read technical drawings
  • On board experience for VLCC, LNG vessels, Container ships and Chemical tankers
  • Work experience required in the marine automation field for 1 to 3 years (On-job training will be provided)
  • Able to travel inbound/outbound (Anchorage /Shipyard/Overseas) on assignment when required, during odd hours, including weekends
  • Preferable experience & knowledge in Marine Equipment engineering, boiler control system, control valves (experience in calibration for control valves and pneumatic instruments preferred)
  • Possess good work discipline
