Junior Animal Feed Assistant (Part-Time) - Singapore Zoo

Mandai Wildlife Group is the steward of Mandai Wildlife Reserve, a wildlife and nature destination in Singapore that is home to world-renown wildlife parks. The Group is driving an exciting rejuvenation plan that will integrate five wildlife parks with distinctive nature-based experiences, green public spaces and an eco-friendly resort.

Job Duties And Responsibilities

  • Work closely with Animal Feed Assistant and Senior Animal Feed Assistant in preparing the food for animals, sending them to designated locations, receiving food that is ordered, performing food quality check and providing feedback to vendors when needed.
  • Prepare the diets formulated by Wildlife Nutritionist and deliver to designated locations.
  • Diets are precisely prepared based on the correct items, weight and quantity on the diet sheets.
  • Food is delivered to the correct locations and shipped in the appropriate environment.
  • Follow all existing SOPs while performing food preparation and food delivery, including wearing personal-protective equipment (PPE) and work safety.
  • Practice good kitchen hygiene to minimize quality risks.
  • Perform good receiving for fresh food items (such as fresh produce).
  • Understand the quality check procedure and standards, reject food when they do not meet requirements or pose quality issues.
  • Provide feedback to vendors based on issues found and report to supervisor.
  • Work closely with Wildlife Nutrition Centre and Driver to ensure driving safety for colleagues and animals, maintain vehicles in good condition, and deliver and collect food in a timely manner.
  • Ensure the safety of people & goods on the vehicles and comply with traffic rules inside and outside the parks.
  • Monitor the condition of the vehicles and ensure they are in "ready-to-drive" condition.
  • Provide feedback to Driver/Technical Service team whenever there are vehicle issues.
  • Operate the vehicles to facilitate loading and unloading goods.
  • Operate tailgate or crane to facilitate goods collection/delivery.
  • Obtain corresponding operating licenses to perform such tasks.
Job Requirements
  • Minimum GCE 'N' levels and above
  • Heavy lifting (up to 25kg) is required
  • Able to work on weekends and public holidays
  • Able to work outdoors where necessary
  • Added advantage for applicants with a valid Class 3 driving license
