Why this role is important to us

SimCorp Asia Pacific (APAC) is looking for a proven, results-driven and solution-oriented Director of Sales who will be accountable and fully responsible for the Commercial Strategy and Enterprise Sales of SimCorp’s holistic suite of product and services. This will include responsibility for building the go-to-market strategy, leading enterprise sales engagements, mentorship of the sales and presales team while working closely with the marketing function in region. The role requires a broad understanding of various financial markets, ranging from trading, analytics, settlement, to performance measurement, risk management, fund administration and accounting. Due to the broad asset class coverage in SimCorp One, there will be exposure to everything from straightforward equities, fixed income securities and alternatives to more complex derivative, credit and OTC instruments. The Director of Sales is a seasoned individual contributor who is instrumental in advancing sales growth through expert product knowledge, strategic sales techniques, and a deep understanding of client needs. With typically 10-15 years of experience in enterprise sales, this role is responsible for managing high-value accounts, building relationships with key stakeholders, and providing tailored sales strategies to support the acquisition of major clients. The Director of Sales works closely with senior leadership, sales teams, and clients to ensure that SimCorp’s solutions are effectively positioned and aligned with client business objectives.

What You Will Be Responsible For
  • Building and executing the SimCorp Japan Commercial Strategy
  • Achievement of new license revenue targets across Japan
  • Territory development ensuring all opportunities are qualified, developed and managed effectively through to closure of a sale
  • Research, analyze and confirm addressable market in Japan
  • Dedicatedly support sales and marketing campaigns as defined by the global and regional marketing functions
  • Maintain and update accurate information in Salesforce
  • Engage, along with the sales team, with the client and develop initial relationships to discover the opportunity. Partner with Marketing and enable Inside Sales to discover opportunities to drive pipeline creation.
  • Create and implement strategic and operational plans to improve the market position, product range, innovation sales support, brand awareness and customer focus to attract volume from competitors.
  • Be knowledgeable in SimCorp offers and become well-versed in the value propositions of our solutions.
  • Lead, coach, motivate and develop the team to deliver effective and strategic marketing strategies that leverage the core values and create a compelling competitive advantage.
  • Explore new routes to market – identifying and exploiting new technologies, services, and partnerships to enhance revenue opportunities.
  • Be a pivotal part of negotiating contract pricing and overall responsibility for legal matters.
  • Identifying and prioritizing key players and top targets and corresponding opportunities of growth in line with broader SimCorp product growth objectives.

  • Leading sales efforts for large, strategic accounts, including complex negotiations and high-stakes contract discussions.
  • Collaborating with senior management to align sales strategies with SimCorp’s business objectives and market positioning.
  • Mentoring and coaching junior sales staff to develop their skills and contribute to the success of the sales team.
  • Conducting market research and competitive analysis to inform sales tactics and identify new business opportunities.
  • Providing insights to product teams based on customer feedback, helping to shape future product development and innovation.
What We Value
  • A relevant Bachelor’s degree and a demonstrated interest and ability to engage in solutions-oriented discussion with senior leaders of the fund industry
  • At least 10 years of relevant Enterprise Sales experience
  • Experience in covering the Japanese market and Japanese language proficiency
  • Demonstrated expertise in sales roles, highlighting the ability to create quality results while effectively managing several tasks in a busy organization
  • Ability to develop and maintain relationships with senior leaders across asset managers, consultants, trust banks, pension funds, insurance funds in your addressable market
  • Ability to learn and gain a deep understanding of the different business issues the SimCorp offerings solve
  • Strategic and tactical thinking with the ability to lead a sales process and execute tactics
  • Balance of people, selling and relationship development skills with understanding of core product solutions and services
  • Experience in leading the lifecycle of the sales process including updating forecasts, using Salesforce, and facilitating weekly sales meetings
  • Proficiency in building and maintaining customer relationships and identifying requirements related to SimCorp’s offerings
  • Ability to recognize market trends that could influence corporate sales strategies
