Position Summary
The IT assistant manager will be responsible for monitoring and managing the development of a large-scale Royalty Distribution System and smaller-scale projects. This role ensurestimely delivery, adherence to technical specifications, and alignment with business objectives. The position requires strong coordination skills, technical understanding, and the ability to manage multiple stakeholders across different projects.
Key Responsibilities
Project Management
- Plan, coordinate, and execute IT and digital projects, ensuring alignment with business objectives.
- Gather and validate business requirements, translate them into functional specifications, and collaborate with vendors and internal teams to deliver effective solutions.
- Lead or support system testing, pilot deployments, and user acceptance testing (UAT).
- Monitor project progress, timelines, and risks, ensuring milestones are achieved within scope, budget, and quality standards.
- Enforce change management processes throughout the system lifecycle and manage change requests effectively.
- Prepare and maintain functional, technical, and user documentation.
- Manage vendor relationships and promptly resolve any issues that arise.
- Oversee data management practices, including backup, recovery, and storage solutions.
Operational Support
- Oversee daily IT system operations to ensure stability and performance.
- Coordinate troubleshooting efforts and liaise with vendors to resolve incidents promptly.
- Coordinate closely with support teams to test and deploy defect fixes, enhancements and patches to production environment.
- Define action and work plans to address the issues, prepare project status reports, incident summaries and change request for review.
- Formulate a problem solving and decision-making approach to handle issues.
System Monitoring & Reporting
- Perform installation, configuration, migration, upgrades, and testing of software applications.
- Ensure automated processes and integrations run smoothly; proactively initiate recovery for failures.
- Maintain accurate system documentation and ensure proper user training and operational handover for new implementations.
- Coordinate defect fixes, enhancements, and patch deployments with support teams.
- Prepare project status reports, incident summaries, and change request documentation.
- Develop and implement checklists for service delivery management.
Continuous Improvement
- Recommend process or system improvements based on user feedback or performance metrics.
- Stay up to date with emerging technologies relevant to IT.
Required Skills & Qualifications
- Diploma or degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field.
- Strong understanding of software development lifecycle (SDLC).
- Familiarity with Java-based systems, cloud platforms (AWS), and relational databases (PostgreSQL).
- Experience with project management and stakeholder management
- Excellent communication and documentation skills.
- Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
