At Citi, you’ll have the opportunity to expand your skills and make a difference at one of the world’s most global banks. We’re fully committed to supporting your growth and development from the start with extensive on-the-job training and exposure to senior leaders, as well as more traditional learning. You’ll also have the chance to give back and make a positive impact where we live and work through volunteerism.

Shape your Career with Citi

Citi Global Wealth brings together the full power of Citi to serve the entire continuum of wealth clients, from affluent to ultra‑high net worth to family offices. The strategies we create help our clients maintain liquidity while maximizing yields, transact in foreign currency and across borders, and manage fluctuating expenses or cash flow. We are uniquely suited to helping our clients meet their banking needs across regions through our global network.

We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Investment Counselor Team Lead to join our Citi Wealth team in Singapore. This Senior Vice President (SVP) position is a unique “player‑coach” role, blending strategic team leadership with active client advisory for our high‑net‑worth client segments. You will be responsible for leading a team of talented Investment Counselors while personally managing a portfolio of sophisticated clients. Your mission is to elevate investment advisory, drive investment revenue, grow Net New Investment Assets (NNIA), and solidify Citi’s leadership position in premier wealth advisory.

The Opportunity

This role places you at the heart of Citi’s wealth management business, serving our most dynamic and successful clients— high net worth individuals across our Citigold and Citigold Private Client segments, including entrepreneurs, business owners, and professionals shaping the future. These clients value insightful portfolio guidance, robust investment strategies, and a trusted advisory relationship.

As a leader, you will inspire a high‑performing team. As an advisor, you will leverage your deep expertise in portfolio construction, multi‑asset investing, and market dynamics to help clients achieve their financial ambitions. This is a role for a collaborative and strategic individual with an entrepreneurial drive to acquire new client relationships, passionate about building a thriving practice and mentoring the next generation of advisors.

Key Responsibilities
Leadership and Strategy
  • Lead & Inspire: Coach, mentor, and manage a team of Investment Counselors, fostering a culture of excellence, collaboration, and high performance.
  • Drive Business Growth: Develop and execute strategies to achieve team goals for investment revenue, client acquisition, and asset growth. This will entail proactive stakeholder engagement including Client Advisory Team Leaders and Investment Solutions Team.
  • Enhance Client Engagement: Guide your team in deepening client relationships through holistic, insights‑driven investment solutions and superior advice.
Client Advisory & Management
  • Serve as a Trusted Advisor: Act as the primary investment expert for a portfolio of high‑net‑worth clients, providing tailored advice and seamless trade execution in partnership with Client Advisors.
  • Expertise with Portfolio Construction: Apply sound asset allocation frameworks and demonstrate strong proficiency across traditional and alternative asset classes to optimize client outcomes.
  • Acquire New Relationships: Partner with Client Advisors to prospect and win new investment clients, expanding Citi’s share of wallet and market penetration.
Compliance, Risk & Controls
  • Ensure that KYC/AML and other compliance norms are strictly adhered to. Appropriately assess risk when business decisions are made, demonstrating particular consideration for the firm’s reputation and safeguarding Citigroup, its clients and assets, by driving compliance with applicable laws, rules and regulations, adhering to policy, applying sound ethical judgment regarding personal behavior, conduct and business practices, and escalating, managing and reporting control issues with transparency.
What You’ll Bring
  • 15+ years of investment advisory experience, with a proven track record of delivering sophisticated investment solutions and driving business growth.
  • Demonstrated success in leading, managing, and motivating high‑performing advisory teams.
  • Deep knowledge across all major investment asset classes, currencies, and global markets, including traditional and alternative investments.
  • Exceptional interpersonal and relationship management skills, with the ability to build immediate trust and credibility with affluent and high‑net‑worth individuals.
  • A strategic thinker with strong analytical capabilities and the ability to exercise sound, independent investment judgment.
Education
  • Bachelor’s degree required; MBA/other advanced degree or professional certification (CFA/CAIA) is a plus.
  • Must meet and maintain all Monetary Authority of Singapore (MAS) licensing and regulatory requirements for providing investment advice.
