Introduction

Integration is now the foundation of digital business and AI strategy—the "nervous system" connecting applications, data, partners, and experiences across modern hybrid enterprises.

Your mission is to scale IBM’s Integration Software portfolio (iPaaS, API Management, App Integration, Messaging, Events, Microservices, MFT, B2B & Gateways) and position IBM as the trusted partner for modernization, ecosystem expansion, and AI-driven transformation.

This role is ideal for a transformative sales executive who thrives in complexity, mobilizes cross-functional teams, and delivers impactful business outcomes for C-level customers.

Your role and responsibilities

IBM is seeking a dynamic, highly strategic Senior Sales Leader to lead our Integration Software business across Asia Pacific—one of the fastest-growing regions for hybrid cloud, digital transformation, and Enterprise AI initiatives. This is a mission-critical 2nd-line leadership role overseeing a multimillion-dollar portfolio and multiple country sales & pre-sales teams, reporting directly to the Automation Platform Executive for Asia Pacific.

Required technical and professional expertise
Regional Business Leadership
  • Own, grow and achieve the business target for the IBM Integration Software business across APAC.
  • Lead and develop a high-performing organisation of Sales and Pre-Sales Leaders managing country & regional Sales Specialists/ Pre-Sales Specialists.
  • Establish pipeline discipline, forecast accuracy, and operational excellence across 12+ countries.
  • Drive strategy for market expansion, competitive plays, partner ecosystem, and customer adoption.
Go-to-Market Ownership
  • Execute the GTM strategy for IBM’s Hybrid Integration Platform, aligned with the strategic themes of the region.
  • Land IBM’s value proposition around a unified integration fabric—connecting application, API, data, event, and B2B/MFT patterns into one platform
  • Strategic themes:
    • AI readiness
    • Hybrid & multi-cloud adoption
    • Legacy modernization
    • Ecosystem/API economy
    • Event-driven and data integration
Executive Customer Engagement
  • Engage C-levels (CIO, CTO, CDO) and senior business stakeholders across banking, telco, manufacturing, government, retail, and logistics.
  • Guide clients on integrating modernization with business outcomes—including agility, cost efficiency, resilience, and ecosystem growth (as highlighted in the playbook’s value drivers)
  • Position IBM as a partner in strategic programmes: ERP modernization, open banking, 5G, smart manufacturing, digital government, and real-time customer experience.
Sales Excellence & Transformation Leadership
  • Coach teams on opportunity discovery, qualification, and multi-stakeholder selling using insights from:
    • Integration patterns & architectures
    • Stakeholder personas (CIO, architects, business owners, DevOps, citizen developers)
    • Value drivers (speed, cost, resilience, agility, data value, ecosystem growth)
  • Foster a "Platform Selling" culture that lands one pattern and expands into others (API → B2 → Events → Data integration).
Cross-Functional Orchestration
  • Partner with Product Management, Marketing, Ecosystem, and Technical Sales to drive integrated campaigns.
  • Engage global business units to ensure APAC customer needs shape roadmap and innovation priorities.
  • Build strategic collaborations with cloud providers, GSIs, ISVs, and regional integrators.
Talent Leadership
  • Recruit, inspire, and develop top integration sellers and architects.
  • Build a succession bench, foster diversity, and maintain a culture of trust, ownership, and high performance.
  • Implement modern sales methodologies and continuous learning programs around hybrid integration, enterprise AI, and solution co-creation.
Preferred technical and professional experience

Required Professional Experience

  • 15+ years of enterprise software sales experience, ideally in integration, API, iPaaS, middleware, cloud, digital modernization, or automation.
  • 5-10 years of people leadership, including second-line management overseeing multi-country teams in APAC.
  • Proven track record of delivering high-growth performance across complex, matrixed environments.
  • Demonstrated success in selling to CIOs, CTOs, Chief Digital/Data Officers, and line-of-business executives.
  • Experience managing large strategic transformation deals involving hybrid integration, multi-cloud architecture, data integration, APIs, microservices, or B2B ecosystems.

Hybrid Integration Expertise

  • Deep familiarity with iPaaS, API Management, application integration, messaging, event-driven architecture, B2B, and MFT solutions.
  • Understanding of modern integration patterns (API-led, microservices, EDA, data pipelines, B2B, MFT)
  • Ability to articulate how integration underpins AI readiness, composable business, and digital transformation.

Architecture & Technology Understanding

  • Solid grounding in hybrid cloud (AWS, Azure, GCP), container platforms (Kubernetes, OpenShift), DevOps pipelines, APIs (REST, GraphQL, AsyncAPI), messaging protocols, and enterprise security models.
  • Ability to translate complex architecture into business value: reliability, resilience, TCO reduction, time-to-market acceleration.

Commercial & Strategic Acumen

  • Strong financial and analytical skills to drive ROI-based selling, business case development, and value realization.
  • Ability to lead through change, market shifts, and competitive dynamics.
