Job summary

A leading offshore production company in Singapore is looking for an Instrument Technician to maintain instrumentation systems on FPSOs. You will be responsible for ensuring compliance with safety standards, reporting issues, and maintaining high-quality service. Ideal candidates will have a Diploma in Engineering and at least 5 years of experience. Strong English communication skills are essential, along with a proactive approach to safety and maintenance protocols.

Qualifications

  • 5 years experience as instrument technician on FPSOs.
  • Proficient with permit-to-work and isolation systems.
  • Fluency in spoken and written English.

Responsibilities

  • Carry out maintenance and repair inspections on instruments.
  • Report deficiencies and propose solutions to Lead I&C.
  • Ensure compliance with MODEC's Permit to Work system.
  • Maintain high standards of housekeeping in the workshop.
  • Contribute to emergency response plans.

Job description
Overall Job Purpose

Responsible for the maintenance of all Instrumentation inside the vessel that was assigned, under the direction of the Lead I&C in order to ensure that activities are performed correctly, timely and in an efficient manner.

Core Responsibilities
  • Carry out maintenance, repair inspection activities on equipment in accordance with the Planned Maintenance System, executing and working closely with the Lead I&C and other technicians which are under Lead I&C Supervision.
  • Contribute with the perfect functioning of the instrument, reporting deficiencies and malfunctioning, discussing and analyzing technical and spares issues with the Lead I&C as well as proposing solutions for the weak points using the technical knowledge and experience.
  • Ensure that Critical function test of the instrument is completed according to MODEC Standard in time, performing the activity according the work order instruction which is attached for WO and closing the Work order in SAP system.
  • Assure the properly follow up for the Maintenance Plan, checking if that all work orders are filled up properly into SAP.
  • Ensure compliance with MODEC Permit to Work system, isolation standard being aware about latest revision of PTW and act as Permit user of PTW for the task performed by Instrumentation team.
  • Ensure that high standard of housekeeping is present in the Instrumentation Workshop and as well on the worksite which are under Lead I&C responsibility.
  • Assist to Lead I&C to review the Maintenance plan providing inputs for the plan base of technical knowledge and experience.
  • Ensure all the time high quality of the service, for Preventive and Corrective maintenance is achieved, reporting any deviation to Lead I&C.
  • Contribute in emergency situations, according to Emergency response plan.
  • Ensure that the tools used are in good condition, they are certified and acting when required.
  • Develop a close working relationship with all Departments.
  • Contribute with performing any additional task compatible with the professional training requested by Lead I&C or Maintenance Superintendent.
  • Demonstrate ownership of own training requirements and proactively arrange training to be done/renewed in time as per MODEC Integrated Management System.

Qualifications & Experience

Diploma in Engineering with 5 years experience as instrument tech on FPSOs and Permit-to-work system, isolations system and risk assessments.

Fluency in spoken and written English.
