Job description
Inhouse Legal Senior Associate
About Us

Franklin Medici Family Office is a Singapore-based multi-family office serving Ultra-High-Net-Worth (UHNW) families across Asia. We advise on complex wealth structuring, tax-efficient investment platforms, and cross-border asset planning, working closely with principals, external advisors, and regulators.

We are seeking a Legal Senior Associate (2–6 PQE) who enjoys combining legal judgment with commercial thinking in a discreet, principal-facing environment.

The Role

You will act as a core internal legal advisor on private wealth, regulatory, and investment-related matters, supporting both the firm and its UHNW clients. This is a hands‑on role with direct exposure to decision‑makers, complex cross‑border issues, and sophisticated structuring work.

Key Responsibilities
  • Advise on family office establishment, structuring, and ongoing regulatory matters, including MAS submissions and engagement.

  • Support private wealth, trust, succession, and asset‑protection planning in coordination with external legal and tax advisors.

  • Draft, review, and negotiate legal documentation including investment advisory agreements, fund‑related contracts, shareholder agreements, and trust‑related instruments.

  • Provide legal input on investment structures, transactions, and due diligence where applicable.

  • Translate complex legal and regulatory issues into practical, commercially‑sound advice for internal stakeholders and clients.

  • Serve as a key legal contact for MAS-related matters, including licensing, filings, and regulatory correspondence.

  • Own and oversee legal and compliance risk areas.

  • Maintain and enhance internal compliance frameworks to support a growing family office platform.

Requirements
  • LL.B. from a recognised university.

  • 2–6 years’ post‑qualification experience in private wealth, trust, corporate, funds, or regulatory practice.

  • Singapore‑qualified or trained in another Common Law jurisdiction (PRC qualification is a plus but not required).

  • Strong grounding in trust, corporate, and regulatory frameworks relevant to family offices or asset management.

  • Able to exercise independent legal judgment in a fast‑moving, high‑discretion environment.

  • Clear, practical communicator with strong drafting skills.

  • Experience working with UHNW clients, family offices, financial institutions, or professional advisory firms is advantageous.

  • English required; Mandarin proficiency preferred for Mandarin‑speaking clients.

Why Join Us
  • Principal‑facing role with real influence on decisions and structures.

  • Exposure to high‑value, cross‑border private wealth and investment matters.

  • Lean team with autonomy, responsibility, and room to grow.

  • Opportunity to develop into a senior legal or leadership role as the platform expands.
