A prominent IT services firm in Singapore is seeking a knowledgeable professional to manage both on-premise and AWS infrastructure, focusing on datacentre implementation and network design for hybrid cloud solutions. The ideal candidate will have substantial experience coordinating asset deliveries and implementing AWS Direct Connect, ensuring compliance with security standards and efficient operations.

Qualifications

  • Experience in coordinating asset delivery in datacentres.
  • Experience in datacentre implementation is required.
  • Comprehensive experience in network design for hybrid cloud solutions.
  • Implementation experience of AWS Direct Connect for one or more hybrid cloud solutions.
  • Basic knowledge of AWS services related to networking.
  • Experience with Commercial Cloud implementation is a differentiator but not mandatory.

Job description
Key Responsibilities
  1. Infrastructure (On-Premise and AWS Cloud):
    1. Assess, design, install and setup on-premise servers.
    2. Conduct Site Survey for all on-premises Public Transport Operator datacentres, client datacentres, client offices, and client designated Tier 2 systems. With consultation with respective stakeholder, and 3rd party vendors.
    3. Create the Detailed Site Deployment Design document based on each Sit Survey destination. This will document how the planned project hardware will be installed at each site, and the requirements (Networking, Rack Space, Electrical) that the site operator must provide.
    4. Coordinate with project contracted hardware providers to plan and schedule deliveries physical appliance, server, and workstation, with consultation with Client Project Manager.
    5. Append to the Observability Design in collaboration with other Technical Architecture and Security team members to document in detail how the availability & SNMP Traps of deployed physical appliances, servers, and workstations at each site will be integrated into the project's Observability platform (Dynatrace SaaS).
    6. Collaborate with Technical Architecture and Security team members to install and / or configure required software on physical appliances, servers, and workstations at each site.
    7. Infrastructure Management Service: Plan and manage transition from previous supplier Infra ops; e.g. firewall request and configuration, user access management, key and certificate management, patching, security compliance, etc.
  2. Network configuration
    1. Create the detailed AWS Network Traffic Routing Design between all VPCs with consultation from Client Network Team.
    2. Create the detailed On-Premises Network Traffic Routing Design between project's AWS VPCs and all on-premises Public Transport Operator datacentres, client datacentres, client offices, and client designated Tier 2 systems. With consultation with Client Network Team, and 3rd party vendors via Client Network Team.
    3. Create the detailed External Link Landing Zone Infrastructure Design in collaboration with consultation from Client Network Team, AWS Team, and MPLS provider for the project's External Link Landing Zone (External LLZ), AWS Direct Connect, and Customer Edge Network Virtual Appliance (NVA).
    4. Connect, and Customer Edge Network Virtual Appliance (NVA).
    5. Append to the Observability Design in collaboration with other Technical Architecture team members to document in detail how the availability & SNMP Traps of External LLZ NVA, Trusted LLZ, Untrusted LLZ, Inspection VPC NGFW, and other critical points of networking failure will be integrated into the project's Observability platform (Dynatrace SaaS).
    6. Implement the AWS Network Traffic Routing Design to enable project's North-South and East-West integrations.
    7. Test and verify the routes between source and destination specified in the AWS Network Traffic Routing Design.
    8. Implement and test the On-Premises Network Traffic Routing Design to enable project's integration with the sources and destinations stated within.
    9. Test and verify the routes between source and destination specified in the On-Premises Network Traffic Routing Design.
    10. Collaborate with the Client Network Team, AWS team, and MPLS provider during the setup and testing of telecommunications MPLS and AWS Direct Connect.
    11. Implement the External Link Landing Zone Infrastructure Design to enable the project's North-South traffic with designated External Interfaces and Public Transport Operator. Including the setup and configuration of the NVA.
    12. Test and verify the routes between source and destination specified in the On-Premises Network Traffic Routing Design. Note that the routes to External Interfaces and Public Transport Operator are in the On-Premises Network Traffic Routing Design.
Skills Required
  1. Experience in coordinating asset delivery in datacentres.
  2. Experience in datacentre implementation is required. Candidate will be quizzed if basic datacentre knowledge is adequate.
  3. Comprehensive experience in network design for hybrid cloud solutions. Interested candidates will be quizzed the rationale of specific decisions made during the design and cite detailed solution to problems encounter.
  4. Implementation experience of AWS Direct Connect for one or more hybrid cloud solutions. Interested candidates will be quizzed about the specifics of implementation.
  5. Basic knowledge of AWS services related to networking. Candidate does not need a AWS certification.
  6. Experience with Commercial Cloud implementation is a differentiator but not mandatory.
