Job summary

A leading engineering firm in Singapore is looking for a qualified HSE professional to ensure compliance with health and safety standards. You will be responsible for conducting safety inspections, preparing HSE findings, and facilitating awareness programs. Ideal candidates will have a diploma in engineering and at least 2 years of related experience, preferably in the petrochemical or marine industry. Effective communication and report writing skills are essential.

Qualifications

  • At least 2 years of experience in HSE, preferably in the petrochemical or marine industry.
  • Valid certification in WSQ Advanced Certification or equivalent preferred.
  • Familiarity with WSH Act and ISO 45001 & ISO 14001 standards.

Job description
Duties and Responsibilities
  • Coordinate and perform daily safety inspections to ensure the maintenance and improvement of Workplace Safety and Health (WSH) standards.
  • Conduct regular HSE inspections and ensure compliance with Health, Safety & Environmental (HSE) work practices and procedures within the project sites and the Company’s facility.
  • Assist in the investigations and reporting of industrial accidents in accordance with the prevailing WSH regulations.
  • Assist in the preparation of monthly HSE findings and presentation to the Management Team.
  • Facilitate HSE awareness programmes with cross-functional teams to promote a strong safety culture.
  • Responsible for maintaining, updating, and retaining relevant HSE documentation, certifications, and records as required under the regulatory authorities.
  • Undertake any other ad-hoc duties as assigned by the Immediate supervisor.
Qualifications / Requirements
  • Candidate must possess at least a Professional Certificate/ NITEC, Diploma/ Advanced/ Higher/ Graduate Diploma in Engineering (Environmental/ Health/ Safety) or equivalent.
  • At least 2 Years of working experience in the related field, preferably in the Petrochemical and/ or Marine industry.
  • A valid certification in WSQ Advanced Certification (WSH Level B), Shipyard Supervisors Safety Course (SSSC), Supervise Workplace Safety and Health in Process Plant (SWSHPP), or its equivalent, is preferred.
  • Familiarity with the WSH Act, ISO 45001 & ISO 14001 standards.
  • A valid Singapore Class 3 or 2B licence is an added advantage.
  • Proficient in MS Office applications (e.g., PowerPoint, Word, and Excel).
  • Possess effective communication and good report writing skills.
  • Able to work independently or in a team.
  • Able to commit to a 5.5-day work week, with overtime as required.
