The HR Generalist will support the HR Manager in overseeing all aspects of human resources operations within the dental practice. This role is responsible for executing HR processes and initiatives across recruitment, onboarding, employee relations, performance management, compliance, training, and payroll coordination. The HR Generalist acts as a trusted partner to management and employees to ensure a positive and compliant workplace culture aligned with the practice’s values and goals.
Recruitment & Onboarding
- Manage end-to-end recruitment for clinical and non-clinical roles (dentists, hygienists, dental assistants, administrative staff).
- Post job advertisements, screen resumes, coordinate interviews, and support hiring decisions.
- Conduct reference checks and prepare offer letters and employment contracts.
- Oversee new hire orientation and ensure a smooth onboarding process.
Employee Relations & Engagement
- Serve as a first point of contact for employee inquiries, grievances, and HR policies.
- Support the HR Manager in handling employee relations issues and disciplinary actions.
- Promote a positive workplace culture through engagement initiatives and recognition programs.
- Conduct stay and exit interviews to improve retention and workplace satisfaction.
HR Administration & Compliance
- Maintain up-to-date employee records and ensure data integrity in HR systems.
- Ensure compliance with employment laws, Fair Work regulations, and dental industry standards.
- Assist with policy updates, HR documentation, and regulatory reporting.
- Manage employees’ compensation and leave of absence processes.
Performance Management
- Support the HR Manager in coordinating performance review cycles.
- Track probation reviews and performance improvement plans.
- Provide coaching and guidance to supervisors on performance management processes.
Training & Development
- Coordinate mandatory compliance and clinical training (CPR, infection control, etc.).
- Identify staff development needs and support HR-led training initiatives.
- Maintain training records and monitor license/credential renewals for clinical staff.
Payroll & HR Metrics Support
- Collaborate with payroll colleague and finance teams to ensure accurate employee data and pay details.
- Track attendance, leave balances, and timesheets.
- Prepare HR reports and analytics for management review (e.g., turnover, absenteeism, recruitment metrics).
- Prepare HQ and MOM related reports.
General HR Matters
- Draft and issue ad-hoc employment letters, confirmation letters, experience letters, or contract amendments.
- Maintain accurate employee records and proper filing, both digital and physical.
- Plan and coordinate staff engagement activities, wellness initiatives, and recognition programs.
- Support internal communications such as newsletters, announcements, and HR updates.
- Respond to employee queries on HR policies, benefits, leave, and other employment matters.
- Support the HR Manager in implementing HR initiatives and policies across all clinics.
- Assist in onboarding new hires, including welcome HR induction schedule, and orientation.
- Support exit processes including exit interviews, clearance documentation, and final settlements.
Job Requirements
- Minimum Diploma in Human Resources, Business Administration, or clinical field.
- Minimum 5 years of HR generalist experience, ideally within a healthcare, dental, or clinical setting.
- Sound understanding of Singapore Dental Council requirements and processes.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to build rapport across all levels.
- Excellent organizational and multitasking abilities.
- High attention to detail and confidentiality in handling sensitive information.
- Proficiency with HRIS systems and MS Office Suite.
- Problem-solving mindset with a proactive and service-oriented approach.
