Job description

Overview

Our client, a global leading supply chain conglomerate; their transport entity is looking for a Head of Quality leading the QHSE function as a whole with core individual strengths in Quality / Management for their Singapore & Malaysia businesses.

You will have 7 direct reports assisting you to manage your function.

Provides strategic leadership and oversight of Quality, Health, Safety, Environment (QHSE) across Singapore and Malaysia. This role ensures full compliance with local regulations, international standards, and company policies, while driving a culture of safety, continuous improvement, and ethical trade practices.

Responsibilities

• Develop, implement, and continuously improve QHSE management systems across Singapore and Malaysia.
• Ensure compliance with local regulatory requirements, ISO standards, and corporate QHSE policies.
• Lead incident investigations, root cause analysis, and corrective/preventive action plans.
• Promote a strong safety culture and risk management mindset across all levels of the organization.
• Conduct regular audits, inspections, and performance reviews of QHSE programs.
• Maintain and manage the subcontractor portfolio across different products in Singapore which includes outsourced vendor services for trucking, transportation and other cargo handling & value-added activities.
• Assist in procurement, setup and maintenance of subcontractor data pool, contractual term negotiations and filing as per Corporate Audit requirement.
• Lead, coach, and develop a team of QHSE and trade compliance professionals across Singapore and Malaysia.
• Set clear objectives and KPIs for team members, ensuring alignment with business goals.
• Foster collaboration, knowledge-sharing, and continuous improvement within the team.
• Build stakeholder relationships with local authorities, industry bodies, and internal business leaders.

Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree/Post Graduate Diploma/Professional Degree in Engineering (Others), Business Studies/Administration/Management, Logistic/Transportation or equivalent.
• Professional certification in QHSE (e.g., NEBOSH, ISO Lead Auditor) and/or Trade Compliance (e.g., Certified Customs Specialist, Export Compliance Professional) preferred.
• Minimum 8–10 years’ relevant experience, with at least 5 years in a leadership role within the transport, logistics, or supply chain industry.
• Qualified Internal & Lead Auditor.
• Good subcontractor management know-how and experience.
• Proven track record in managing cross-border QHSE and compliance operations.
• Strong knowledge of Singapore and Malaysia regulations in safety, environment, and trade compliance.
• Educational qualifications can be compensated by working experience.
