Head of Fiat - Global Crypto Exchange (Confidential Search)

We are partnering with a leading global player in the digital asset space that is experiencing strong growth and expanding its global footprint. As part of this next phase, we are seeking an experienced Head of Fiat to lead and scale the organization's global fiat operations.

This is a senior leadership role for someone with deep expertise in fiat/payment operations, proven experience managing large teams, and the ability to operate strategically and hands-on in a fast-moving, regulated environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Own the end-to-end fiat business, ensuring operational excellence, scalability, and efficiency.
• Lead and grow cross-functional fiat operations teams across multiple regions.
• Manage merchant partnerships, including onboarding, integration, and performance oversight.
• Drive API integrations with payment partners, PSPs, banks, and external vendors.
• Optimize fiat on/off-ramp operations and third-party service provider models.
• Expand card payment channels (debit/credit) and alternative payment methods.
• Build and strengthen banking relationships across jurisdictions, ensuring compliance and operational robustness.
• Collaborate with Compliance, Risk, Product, Tech, and Finance teams to meet regulatory and user experience requirements.
• Continuously improve processes, SLAs, controls, and cost efficiency across the fiat stack.

Requirements

• 10+ years in payments, banking, fintech, or crypto, with a strong focus on fiat/payment operations.
• Prior experience at a top-tier crypto exchange with direct ownership of fiat or payment operations.
• Proven track record leading large regional or global teams.
• Deep understanding of payment rails, card networks, banking integrations, PSPs, and merchant acquiring.
• Hands-on experience with API-based integrations and operational workflows.
• Experience in regulated environments; crypto/digital asset experience is highly preferred.
• Strong stakeholder management skills and ability to work with external partners and senior leadership.
• Comfortable in a fast-growth, high-accountability environment.
