A leading offshore engineering firm is seeking a Head of Discipline for Engineering Support. This pivotal role involves managing engineering resources and developing corporate technical standards while ensuring support for various offshore projects. Ideal candidates will have an extensive background in the oil and gas industry, particularly in offshore environments, complemented by strong leadership, strategic focus, and communication skills in both Korean and English. Frequent travel may be required.
Position Overview: Head of Discipline is a Corporate Manager of Engineering Support Discipline which all topside engineering support resources such as Engineering Information System (EIS), Engineering Software, Document Control (DC) and Administration, belong to and supports all projects to supply them with project engineering support including recruitment.
Head of Discipline takes a lead to develop corporate technical standards/procedures such as EIS administration procedure, EIS user manual, DC procedure etc, work flow, engineering platform and keep them updated, integral, practical and fit to purpose with incorporating Project Lessons Learnt.
Head of Discipline manages all project engineering support resources and monitor feasibility studies/FEED/EPCI project progress to provide engineering supports to each prospective/ongoing project as per the close communication with Project Management Teams (Project Management Teams (PMTs)).
Head of Discipline is also a custodian of Lessons Learnt database for Project execution and Operation & Maintenance phases and disseminate them to all project teams to ensure agile preventive or mitigative actions and design standardization.
Head of Discipline may become a Project Engineering Information Management Lead concurrently and therefore, the candidate requires hands-on project engineering support experience.
Head of Discipline reports to Head of Topside Engineering and update area of concerns, project manning plan, project progress and forecasts periodically (e.g. weekly basis) and attend corporate periodic meeting (e.g. weekly).
Head of Discipline develop career development plan for each engineering support resource and provides opportunities to attend international conferences, training courses etc.
This role may require frequent travel to the US, Europe, and Asia.
The ideal candidate of the position will have a strong leadership and a strong background in Offshore Oil & Gas Industry, be an expert in Engineering Information System/Platform, and provide strategic focus in the Engineering Information Management for Conceptual/pre-FEED/FEED/EPC(I) projects of FPSO, FLNG or offshore facilities.
The strategic focus will also include providing support to Hanwha Ocean engineering teams based at Singapore/India/Amsterdam/Houston/Seoul and other locations as necessary including Conceptual, pre-FEED and FEED for projects in the offshore area in the future.
