A leading freight forwarding company in Singapore seeks an experienced Air Freight Manager to oversee profitability and strategy for the Singapore-Malaysia cluster. Candidates should have a minimum of 8 years of experience in the freight forwarding industry, with strong expertise in air freight pricing and project management. Proficiency with CargoWise One is an advantage. This role requires excellent relationship management and problem-solving skills.

Qualifications

• Oversee Air Freight profit and loss for Singapore-Malaysia cluster.

• Supervise gateway and hub activities to maintain service quality.
• Cultivate and sustain key relationships with airlines and logistics providers.
• Manage sourcing of non-preferred carriers and local pricing discussions.
• Contribute pricing expertise for regional and global tenders.
• Achieve superior customer experience via dependable service delivery.
• Allocate resources effectively across Singapore, Malaysia, and the COE.
• Partner with sales teams in securing deal closures.

Job description

Responsibilities

1. Responsible for the Air Freight profit and loss across the Singapore–Malaysia cluster.
2. Develop and implement the Air Freight strategy for the Singapore–Malaysia cluster, in alignment with GFS Air Product guidelines and broader corporate goals.
3. Direct cross-border trucking operations to support the air freight network, delivering seamless first- and last-mile connections between Singapore and Malaysia.
4. Supervise gateway and hub activities in both markets to maintain consistent service quality, regulatory compliance, and operational robustness.
5. Cultivate and sustain key relationships with airlines, GSAs, and logistics providers to secure optimal capacity, rates, and performance.
6. Manage sourcing of non-preferred carriers and local pricing discussions to drive competitiveness and profitability.
7. Contribute pricing expertise, operational assessments, and coordinated implementation for regional and global tenders in collaboration with the COE and commercial teams.
8. Achieve superior customer experience via dependable service delivery, prompt problem-solving, and ongoing enhancements.
9. Allocate resources and priorities effectively across Singapore, Malaysia, and the COE to enable scalable and efficient product operations.
10. Partner with sales teams in Singapore and Malaysia to build the pipeline and secure deal closures.

Requirements

1. Minimum 8 years of experience in the freight forwarding industry, with 3–5 years in a managerial role.
2. In-depth expertise in air freight pricing and procurement, with established networks and strong relationships with airlines, agents, and trucking providers.
3. Demonstrated track record in managing air freight projects and solutions.
4. Proficiency with CargoWise One is an advantage.
