We take a product-focused approach to providing business solutions, prototype ideas, test them in the real business scenarios, and build re-usable components. We aim to build an advanced analytics capability and to develop first-of-its-kind technology for our industry.

Position Summary

As Senior Computer Vision Scientist, you will be responsible for utilizing deep learning and computer vision methods to develop and train new models in the agriculture space. Problems that you will need to solve include training computer vision models for fruit counting and grading, as well as the use of drone and satellite multi-spectral imaging for detecting tree disease and nutrition. You will be leading a lean and capable team.

Key Responsibilities

• Developing, training and deploying deep learning-based computer vision models
  • Ability to independently train deep learning and computer vision based models, and to experiment with new methods to drive model performance, robustness and accuracy.
  • Build feature engineering pipelines, and to improve annotation and labelling to drive model performance.
• Maintain high technical data science and AI standards
  • Lead and mentor technical junior members of the team, enabling professional growth and learning
  • Help with technical hiring processes to ensure high technical bar
• Lead, develop and mentor a lean and capable team

Skills & Qualifications

• At least 8 years of proven experience developing deep learning or computer vision models that have been deployed and maintained in production.
• Advanced degree (Masters or PhD) in computer vision, machine learning or computer science is an advantage.
• Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills, with the ability to approach complex business problems in a structured and logical manner.
• Experience with productionising computer vision models and in Machine Learning Ops is an advantage.
• An effective people leader, with experience in managing and developing a high forming team of 2-5 people
• Experience working in the forestry or agri-tech space is a strong advantage though not a necessity.
