Job summary

A multinational organization in Singapore is looking for an experienced Head of Accounting to oversee all accounting matters. This role involves managing a team, ensuring compliance with statutory and Group requirements, and improving operational processes. The ideal candidate has at least 10 years of experience in accounting, strong knowledge of IFRS and tax regulations, and a proven track record in leadership within complex organizations, particularly in manufacturing or Oil & Gas. This is a key role requiring strong communication and technology skills.

Job description

We are seeking an experienced Head of Accounting who will be responsible for overseeing the accounting matters of all Singapore entities within a highly matrixed multinational organisation. If you have proven experience leading a team in a manufacturing or Oil & Gas organisation, that would be most ideal. In this role, you will lead a Singapore accounting team, ensuring compliance with statutory and Group reporting requirements, while improving operational processes and coaching the team to higher performance.

Job Responsibilities:
  • Handle the preparation of financial reports for management and stakeholders, overseeing the accounts of subsidiaries, ensuring compliance with statutory and Group standards.
  • Lead and coach a team of accountants to improve existing processes and enhance overall team performance.
  • Drive the enhancement and efficiency of accounting processes, ensuring they meet Group and internal control guidelines.
  • Provide technical financial expertise to support strategic initiatives.
  • Partner with the Finance department to support the overall function goals.
  • Work with tax team to fulfil tax filing responsibilities, including GST.
  • Prepare for and facilitate audits.
  • Maintain strong working relationships with both local and regional external stakeholders, including auditors and compliance authorities.
Job Requirements:
  • Possess a Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or Finance.
  • Certified Public Accountant (CPA) or IFRS certification required.
  • Possess at least 10 years of professional accounting experience.
  • Proven leadership ability to drive and manage accounting team.
  • Leveraged technology to drive transformation projects (e.g. automation, AI, RPA).
  • Strong knowledge of IFRS and tax regulations.
  • Strong experience working in complex, matrixed organisations, ideally in manufacturing/Oil & Gas industries.
  • Possess strong cross-functional communication abilities.
