The ideal candidate has over 20 years of experience in HSSE roles, particularly within the energy or renewable sectors. Qualifications

  • 20+ years of progressive experience in HSSE roles, ideally within the energy or renewable energy sectors.
  • Strong knowledge of regional regulations and safety standards across Southeast Asia, China, India, and the UK.
  • Proven leadership experience in managing multi-country teams and complex projects.

Responsibilities

1. Strategic Leadership

  • Develop and execute the Group HSSE strategy aligned with business goals and growth ambitions.
  • Lead a high-performing HSSE function that acts as a strategic partner to the business.
  • Drive a proactive HSSE culture that prioritizes the safety and well‑being of employees, contractors, and stakeholders.

2. Governance, Consistency & Compliance

  • Establish and enforce Group-wide HSSE policies and standards to ensure consistency across all regions.
  • Ensure compliance with local regulations and international best practices in all operating locations.
  • Oversee internal assurance programs to monitor HSSE performance and compliance.

3. Excellence & Continuous Improvement

  • Partner with Group Digital to drive digitalization initiatives that enhance HSSE data visibility, reporting, analytics, and risk prediction.
  • Identify and implement global best practices to drive excellence in HSSE performance.
  • Foster a learning culture by promoting knowledge sharing and lessons learned across projects and countries.

4. Engagement & Partnership

  • Engage with country and project teams to support and guide HSSE implementation on the ground.
  • Promote collaboration and alignment across all functions to integrate HSSE into decision‑making and business processes.

5. Incident Management & Emergency Preparedness

  • Lead the development and execution of emergency response plans and crisis management protocols.
  • Ensure robust incident reporting, investigation, and follow‑up processes are in place.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Occupational Health, Safety, Environmental Science, Risk Management, Engineering, or a related field.
  • 20+ years of progressive experience in HSSE roles, ideally within the energy, or renewable energy sectors.
  • Strong knowledge of regional regulations and safety standards across Southeast Asia, China, India, and the UK.
  • Proven leadership experience in managing multi‑country teams and complex projects.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills.
  • A track record of successfully implementing HSSE programs/strategies in fast‑paced, high‑growth environments.
