Job Profile Summary :

A highly skilled and visionary Head of AI Engineering will lead Prudential efforts in developing and deploying innovative AI / GenAI and ML solutions to drive business growth and efficiency. The role will play a pivotal role in utilizing AI to create a competitive edge, streamline operations, and generate new revenue streams through AI-driven products and services. Collaborating with senior stakeholders, business and technology partners, the Head of AI Engineering will ensure that AI / GenAI solutions are seamlessly integrated and aligned with the organization's strategic objectives.

Job Description :

• Direct the lifecycle management of AI / ML solutions, from ideation to deployment, ensuring alignment with business goals and user needs.
• Apply a sophisticated understanding of AI / ML technologies to design, develop, and substantiate applications that solve specific business issues faced by the company, such as risk assessment, operation efficiency, and personalized insurance offerings.
• Craft and lead machine learning strategies, incorporating a mix of approaches from Predictive AI and Generative AI, to refine and elevate the company's operational and strategic capabilities.
• Lead the selection of development tools and environments, advocating for the adoption of industry best practices in AI and ML project development to optimize performance and innovation.
• Perform comprehensive analyses of engineering decisions, effectively communicating the technical implications and ensuring alignment across the team by facilitating a shared understanding of the chosen approaches and their impact.
• Champion collaboration among diverse teams, including data analysts, scientists, engineers, product managers and business users, to meticulously define requirements and orchestrate strategic product roadmaps that align with the company’s long‑term vision.
• Act as a catalyst for innovation, keeping abreast of the latest developments in AI / ML fields, applying this knowledge to drive forward‑thinking solutions that keep the organization competitive in the fast‑evolving insurance and technology landscape.
• Take charge of a team of machine learning engineers and data scientists, responsible for training, upskilling and guiding their professional development and fostering a culture of excellence, innovation, and continuous learning within the department.
• Promote ethical AI practices, ensuring algorithms and machine learning models deployed are fair, transparent, and devoid of biases, thereby enhancing trust and integrity in AI solutions used within the company.

Who we are looking for :

Qualifications and Experience :

• Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Data Science, or a related field, with a focus on advanced analytics and engineering.
• Minimum of 10 years of relevant experience in machine learning, data science, or a similar role, preferably within the insurance or high‑tech industry.
• Demonstrated capability in deploying AI / ML solutions, including familiarity with the latest Generative AI tools.
• Comprehensive knowledge of machine learning algorithms, data structures, cloud‑based data platforms, and MLOps practices.
• Proficiency in programming and analytical tools, including Python, SQL, and Spark.
• Experience in guiding teams through ambiguity to deliver high‑impact projects.
• Strong communication skills, with the ability to translate complex technical concepts to non‑technical stakeholders effectively.
