Overview
We are seeking a dynamic and motivated Gym Manager to lead the operations of our new fitness facility at Cheng San CC. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in marketing, personal training, operations, and finance, with a passion for fitness and community building. This role will oversee the initial gym setup, day-to-day operations, staff hiring, and marketing strategies to drive membership growth and ensure a world-class member experience.
Key Responsibilities
Marketing
- Develop and implement comprehensive marketing strategies, including traditional (flyers, local partnerships, events) and digital (social media, email campaigns, SEO) channels.
- Manage social media presence, creating engaging content to attract and retain members.
- Build partnerships with local businesses and community organizations to promote the gym.
- Analyze marketing campaign performance and adjust strategies to maximize ROI.
Operations
- Oversee daily gym operations, ensuring a clean, safe, and welcoming environment for members and staff.
- Manage equipment maintenance, facility upkeep, and vendor relationships.
- Implement and enforce gym policies, procedures, and safety protocols.
- Coordinate class schedules, personal training sessions, and group fitness programs.
Finance and Hiring
- Develop and manage the gym’s budget, including revenue forecasting, expense tracking, and financial reporting.
- Oversee membership billing, payment processing, and financial audits.
- Recruit, hire, and train a high-performing team of personal trainers, front desk staff, and maintenance personnel.
- Conduct performance reviews and provide ongoing staff development and training.
Initial Gym Setup
- Collaborate with contractors and vendors to oversee the design and setup of the gym facility, including equipment selection and installation.
- Ensure compliance with local regulations, permits, and safety standards during setup.
- Develop initial membership packages, pricing strategies, and pre-opening promotional campaigns.
- Establish operational workflows and systems for membership management, scheduling, and customer service.
Member Experience and Retention
- Foster a positive, inclusive gym culture that encourages member engagement and loyalty.
- Address member inquiries, concerns, and feedback promptly and professionally.
- Develop programs and events to enhance community engagement, such as fitness challenges, workshops, and social events.
- Monitor member satisfaction through surveys and feedback to continually improve services.
Additional Responsibilities
- Stay updated on fitness industry trends, incorporating innovative programs and services to keep the gym competitive.
- Manage inventory for gym merchandise, supplements, or other retail offerings.
- Ensure compliance with health, safety, and employment regulations.
- Represent the gym at community events, fitness expos, or industry conferences.
Qualifications
- 2+ years of experience in gym management, fitness operations, or a related role.
- Proven background in marketing, with expertise in social media and traditional marketing strategies.
- Personal training certification or equivalent experience preferred.
- Excellent leadership and communication skills, with the ability to motivate and manage a diverse team.
- Passion for fitness and a commitment to promoting a healthy lifestyle.
