Group Accountant (Shipping/Maritime)

Our client is an established player in the maritime industry, looking for a meticulous accountant with relevant experience in the shipping industry.

Key Responsibilities
  • Support recurring finance and accounting activities across group and corporate entities
  • Assist with financial close processes by preparing, reviewing, and organising accounting information
  • Maintain accuracy of ledger records, including journals, reconciliations, and supporting schedules
  • Help monitor balances across related entities and follow up on outstanding differences
  • Update financing, cash-related, and internal reporting schedules on a regular basis
  • Liaise with internal teams to ensure timely submission and alignment of financial data
  • Provide support during audits, reviews, and routine compliance processes
  • Contribute to finance initiatives, process improvements, and ad-hoc projects as required
Key Requirements
  • Big 4 audit with maritime industry experience is preferred
  • 3+ years of experience with a degree in accounting, finance, or a related field
  • Comfortable working with spreadsheets and handling numerical data
  • Strong attention to detail with the ability to meet deadlines
  • Clear communicator who works well in a team based environment
