The Role
The Governance & Control (G&C) Specialist for MVH Asia will play a critical role in supporting the deployment, monitoring, and continuous improvement of internal control frameworks and governance processes across the MVH Asia markets. Reporting to the RGM G&C Lead, this role will ensure compliance with Mars and MVH policies, drive risk mitigation activities, and collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to embed a strong control culture within the region.
This position supports MVH’s ambition to deliver high-quality veterinary care through robust financial governance and operational controls, enabling sustainable growth and compliance in the dynamic and fast-growing Asia markets.
Key Responsibilities
Control Framework Deployment & Monitoring
- Support the implementation and ongoing enhancement of internal control frameworks for financial and operational processes in MVH Asia, ensuring alignment with Mars and MVH global standards.
- Assist in the standardization of internal controls and processes across Asia markets, promoting consistency and compliance with RGM policies and guidelines.
- Monitor and report on control gaps, ICE (Internal Control Effectiveness) gaps, and remediation progress to the RGM G&C Lead and MVH Asia leadership.
- Collaborate with internal audit teams and market management to address control deficiencies and support audit preparation, review, and follow-up activities.
Fraud & Theft Case Support
- Partner with market management to investigate and resolve fraud and theft cases in accordance with Mars policies (e.g., R25), supporting remediation actions and timely case closure.
- Facilitate knowledge sharing and best practices related to fraud prevention and control within the Asia region.
Segregation of Duties (SoD), PCI, and System Access
- Work with Digital Technology and hospital teams to support quarterly SoD and access reviews, ensuring compliance with control requirements and timely completion of PCI compliance activities.
Compliance Training & Culture
- Assist in driving compliance training programs across MVH Asia to raise awareness and understanding of governance, control frameworks, and regulatory requirements.
- Support initiatives to promote a strong control culture and adherence to Mars Internal Control Framework and governance policies.
Integration & Transformation Support
- Support acquisition integration activities by collaborating with cross-functional teams to embed internal controls and governance processes in newly acquired hospitals and clinics.
- Contribute to financial transformation projects by assisting with solution implementation, system integration, and deployment activities in the Asia region.
- Treasury Work closely with local business teams to identify payment solution needs and support the deployment of new payment systems.
Stakeholder Collaboration
- Liaise with internal and external stakeholders, including finance, HR, IT, and market management, to ensure smooth implementation of control frameworks.
- Provide timely and accurate updates to the RGM G&C Lead and regional leadership on governance and control matters.

Knowledge/Experience required:
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance or related field.
- Proven experience in financial governance, internal controls, and audit processes in a multinational or regional environment.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in cross-functional teams.
- Strong project management and stakeholder engagement skills.
- Experience with control framework deployment, compliance training, and fraud case management preferred.
- Familiarity with segregation of duties (SoD), PCI compliance, and system access reviews is a plus.
- Good understanding of automation opportunities in finance and controls.
