Position Purpose

The purpose of this role is to manage and implement business change initiatives within the Fund Accounting department, including new fund launches, mergers, and IT/non-IT changes. The successful candidate will project manage FA set ups, conduct business analysis, and ensure effective communication with stakeholders. In addition to these primary responsibilities, the role includes secondary responsibilities such as supporting day-to-day operations of fund accounting, ensuring the accuracy of Net Asset Values (NAVs), and providing excellent client service.

Responsibilities
  • Direct Responsibilities – Business Change Management
    • Fund Accounting Business Implementation (FA BI) to manage FA BI events including new fund launches, mergers, share class creations and fund closures. Project manage FA set ups with relevant teams and client interaction on Fund Accounting points (e.g., performance fees, swing pricing, mapping files, reporting, fee budgets); include FA legal document review and ensuring relevant flows are in place.
    • Business Analysis (BA) to conduct detailed analyses on FA changes and articulate impacts clearly.
    • Maintain a good working relationship with the FA BI team in the IOC and use the Combo project management tool to raise requests and manage FA BI events.
    • Fund Accounting Business Change Management (FA BCM) – IT changes: manage Client Change Requests and Business Change Requests, including drafting PIDS, reviewing BRDs, completing UAT, and ensuring successful production implementation.
    • FA BCM – Non-IT changes: manage non-IT change requests related to clients, organizational changes, reporting changes or FA service changes.
    • Project Management: manage PMO activities for FA changes, including project plans, RAID/action logs, and stakeholder coordination.
    • Assist with implementing effective and efficient global processes and controls.
    • Ensure effective communication with the Head of FA BCM.
    • Assist the Head of FA Singapore in creating a standard, scalable, and cost-efficient production model.
    • Draft SLD/SLA with other BPSS locations for outsourcing or insourcing of services.
    • Oversee and monitor SLD/SLA activities to ensure accuracy and timeliness.
    • Draft the operating memorandum and SLA/OSL for new client take-on.
    • Participate in new client take-on and migration activities.
    • Support the Head of FA Singapore in global Fund Accounting operating model objectives.
    • Other ad-hoc duties as required.
  • Secondary responsibilities
    • Review daily, weekly, and monthly NAVs in accordance with industry practices and relevant documents.
    • Work with fund accounting teams and support functions to deliver NAVs on time to meet KPIs.
    • Provide accurate KPI data and establish service excellence.
    • Ensure NAV calculations align with BNPP procedures.
    • Oversee and monitor operational activity by fund accountants.
    • Prepare manuals to control operational risks for day-to-day activities.
    • Report and escalate operational incidents or errors to Management.
    • Participate in regular operational meetings to address client and new business requirements.
    • Work proactively with clients to resolve fund administration queries.
    • Coordinate with Fund Accountants to respond to Auditors and meet deadlines.
    • Participate in transition planning and testing to ensure processes and systems meet client needs.
  • Contributing Responsibilities
    • Risk and Compliance: Ensure operating models comply with regulations, market infrastructure evolution, and BNP Paribas internal controls and obligations.
    • Adhere to Code of Conduct when dealing with clients and providers.
  • Technical & Behavioural Competencies
    • Experience with Multifonds accounting system.
    • Thorough knowledge of FA business implementation events (e.g., New Fund Launches).
    • Strong communication and interpersonal skills with external clients and global stakeholders.
    • Persistence in achieving operational efficiency.
    • Solid operational/technical skills in fund accounting and administration; knowledge of fund investment types.
    • Knowledge of performance fee methodologies, swing pricing, fee methodologies, and product offerings.
    • Knowledge of ETFs, Multi-manager, Multi-currency, Pooling, FOHF, debt funds/loan instruments, and structured products is desirable.
    • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities and good documentation skills.
    • Fluency in Business Mandarin is an added advantage.
