As a Fleet Safety & Performance Coach at V.Group, you will play a crucial role in building and maintaining a high performing safety culture onboard vessels to support Ship Management operations. This position requires you to travel extensively worldwide, including sailing with the vessels and working on weekends. Your primary responsibility will be to promote a safety-first culture and facilitate the implementation of V.Group's core values. You will conduct onboard training services, identify hazardous conditions, and work with the crew to eliminate risks and improve the overall HSE performance. Additionally, you will undertake ship safety inspections, assist in incident investigations, and monitor compliance with company policies and procedures. Your role will also involve providing ship security services, including conducting security assessments and delivering onboard security training. Key Responsibilities and Tasks:- Promote Safety is for me culture & facilitate implementation of V.Group core values- Conduct onboard training need analysis and observe safety culture onboard- Identify hazardous conditions and work with the crew to eliminate risks- Contribute to increasing personnel awareness of risks and encourage active participation- Undertake ship safety inspections and audits, noting deficiencies and recommendations- Monitor compliance with company policies and procedures during inspections- Provide on-board security services including security assessments and training- Submit detailed reports within 2 days of disembarking the vessel- Support the Master and Ships Superintendent with requested assistance and responsibilities- Assist in shore inhouse trainings and regional conferences as requiredQualifications:- Class 1 Master Mariner or senior-level experience as Chief Officer or Chief Engineer- Dangerous cargo endorsement where appropriate- Experience in ISM Auditing, Vetting Inspections, ISM, SSO & CSO certification- Good understanding of statutory requirements, regulations, and marine codes of practice- Excellent communication skills and ability to interact with diverse teams- Proficient in IT skills, report writing, and presenting materials- Fluent in written and spoken business EnglishDesirable Qualifications:- Passion for Training, Coaching, Mentoring- Previous shore experience as Marine Superintendent, Auditor, or Inspector- Wet & Dry vessel experience- Previous port Captaincy or Cargo Superintendent Experience- Experience in V.Ships (ship or shore)In return for your dedication and expertise, V.Group offers a competitive salary and benefits package, along with significant opportunities for career growth and personal development.
