Job summary

A leading shipping company in Singapore is looking for a Marine Engineer to support the fleet's performance and energy efficiency management. The successful candidate will assist with voyages, manage emissions statistics, and ensure compliance with environmental regulations. Key qualifications include a Marine Engineer Class 1/2 Certificate and experience with Business Intelligence Tools. Candidates with at least two years in vessel management are preferred. This role promotes a supportive and inclusive work environment.

Qualifications

  • Possess Marine Engineer Class 1/2 Certificate of Competency.
  • Experience with Business Intelligence Tools like Power BI and Tableau is preferred.
  • A minimum of two years' experience in vessel performance or energy efficiency management.

Responsibilities

  • Assist the Swire fleet with voyages based on schedules provided by operations and commercial teams.
  • Work on sustainable development initiatives with various stakeholders.
  • Manage assigned fleet's performance and emission statistics reporting.
  • Lead energy conservation initiatives for the allocated fleet.
  • Ensure compliance with emission-related laws and regulations.
  • Communicate effectively with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Contribute to ad-hoc projects assigned by the leadership team.

Job description
Role Accountabilities
  • Assist the Swire fleet in carrying out a voyage in accordance with the schedules provided by the operations and commercial teams in a safe and economical manner.
  • Work closely with the rest of the management team on sustainable development, interacting with the Owners, Chartering, Operations, Ship Management, and Commercial teams to achieve bunker saving programs across the Swire fleet (owned and chartered).
  • Track and manage the assigned fleet's performance and emission statistics. Make sure that all vessel reporting is current and of high quality.
  • In charge of the allocated fleet's energy conservation initiatives. It covers, among other technical components, the performance of the hull, propeller, main engine, auxiliary engines, and boiler.
  • Ensure that the Swire fleet is in full compliance with all current and future emission-related laws and regulations. Starting with IMO DCS, EU MRV, UK MRV, and CII compliance.
  • Assure excellent communication with all relevant organization's internal and external stakeholders.
  • Contribute to the ad-hoc projects as assigned by the leadership team
Key Qualifications & Skills
  • Marine Engineer Class 1/2 Certificate of Competency
  • Knowledge of MS Office, Business Intelligence Tools like Power BI, Tableau
  • Prefer two years or more relevant experience in the vessel performance/energy efficiency management of the ships
