Job Summary:
As a Flavorist, you will be responsible for developing, evaluating, and optimizing flavor solutions for a wide range of food applications. This role works closely with Sales, Marketing, Culinary, Quality, and Regulatory teams to deliver innovative, customer-focused flavor concepts that meet technical, commercial, and regulatory requirements.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conducts experiments with natural and synthetic materials, reaction flavors, and byproducts to develop new flavor solutions for a wide range of food applications.
- Develops flavors using additives, preservatives, and other functional ingredients as required for specific applications.
- Possesses strong technical knowledge in flavor development processes, including reaction flavors, for use across multiple product categories.
- Partners with Sales to support customer engagements and deliver technical and commercial presentations to key customers within the region and globally as required.
- Collaborates closely with the Marketing team and Culinary Specialists to develop customized flavor concepts and presentations for major accounts.
- Evaluates flavor performance across various applications, including shelf life studies, stability testing, and flavor retention assessments.
- Performs quality control testing on developed flavors and ensures proper documentation and follow-up in coordination with Quality and Regulatory teams.
- Reviews raw materials and finished flavors to ensure compliance with relevant regulatory requirements in markets where the company operates, including Singapore and other international jurisdictions.
- Maintains accurate, complete, and timely project documentation and records for all assigned projects.
- Demonstrates effective time management and the ability to work under pressure while meeting project deadlines.
- Adheres to all applicable laboratory, workplace safety, and environmental regulations, including local Singapore safety standards and company policies.
Requirements:
- Degree or equivalent qualification in Food Science, Chemistry, Flavor Science, or a related discipline.
- Formal flavorist training and/or relevant industry certification preferred.
- Minimum of 3-5 years of hands‑on experience in flavor development for food applications.
