Based in Singapore, Shiseido Travel Retail is Shiseido’s global duty-free business which specializes in accelerating the growth of Shiseido’s brands to travellers and includes operations in airports, downtown stores, border shops, airlines, and ferries. Our portfolio includes skincare brands SHISEIDO, Clé de Peau Beauté, IPSA, ANESSA, THE GINZA, Drunk Elephant, and ELIXIR; makeup brand NARS; and fragrance brands Narciso Rodriguez and ISSEY MIYAKE PARFUMS.

The Finance Director is a key member of the Finance Leadership Team, responsible for shaping and driving the commercial finance strategy that underpins sustainable growth, profitability, and value creation across the organization. The role leads the Commercial Finance and Pricing teams, including the development and execution of an optimized pricing strategy that supports competitive positioning and margin enhancement.

The Finance Director acts as a strategic partner to the Commercial & Business Development department and STR business leaders, providing forward-looking insights, influencing priorities, and driving financially sound decisions.

He/She will oversee the end-to-end commercial finance agenda, including strategic business planning, forecasting, cost management, profitability improvement, and pricing optimisation, while championing a culture of financial excellence, innovation, and strong cross-functional collaboration.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Serve as the primary finance business partner to senior Commercial leaders, providing strategic financial guidance that drives profitable growth and long-term value creation, and ROI.
  • Shape and execute the commercial financial strategy, aligning it with overall business goals and market dynamics.
  • Lead the Pricing team to optimise pricing strategy across the Travel Retail division.
  • Actively participate and contribute to global pricing initiatives and projects.
  • Lead the development of commercial finance strategic plans and roadmaps, ensuring alignment of financial resources with business priorities.
  • Responsible for partnering with cross-functional teams to support decision-making and identify areas of growth and efficiency.
  • Work closely with Marketing and Commercial teams for mid- and long-term planning, forecasting and analyses that produce accurate, achievable plans and forecasts, aligned with strategic objectives of the business.
  • Deliver timely analysis and provide meaningful and actionable insights, commentaries, advice, and recommendations to effectively measure performance against strategic priorities.
  • Provide strategic insight and recommendations to drive long-term commercial and financial performance, balancing growth ambitions with cost efficiency and financial discipline.
  • Lead the end-to-end financial planning cycle (budgeting, forecasting, and long-term planning) for all commercial functions, ensuring data-driven, realistic, and strategically aligned outcomes.
  • Champion financial modelling and analytics capabilities, elevating decision-making quality across the organization.
  • Drive continuous improvement in systems, reporting tools, and automation (e.g., SAP, BPC, BI, SAC) to enhance accuracy, agility, and scalability.
  • Drive transformation and simplification across financial processes to support operational agility and scalability.
  • Partner with business and functional leaders on strategic initiatives, such as new market entries, product launches, channel transformations, and M&A opportunities, providing financial leadership and commercial due diligence.
  • Lead, inspire, and develop a high-performing Commercial Finance team, fostering a culture of accountability, partnership, and continuous learning.
REQUIREMENTS
  • 15+ years of progressive experience in Commercial Finance, FP&A, Pricing, or related disciplines, with at least 5 years in a senior leadership role within a multinational or FMCG/consumer-centric environment.
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or a related discipline
  • Proven experience leading end-to-end business planning (budgeting, forecasting, etc).
  • Experienced in global and regional pricing strategies and demonstrated strong capability to handle complex pricing issues and topics
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build effective relationships with stakeholders at all levels
  • Demonstrated ability to translate financial insights into strategic business actions.
  • Strong command of financial systems and analytics tools (e.g., SAP, BPC, BI, SAC) and advanced financial modeling skills.
  • Exceptional leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to operate effectively in a matrixed, fast-paced global environment.
  • High level of integrity and demonstrated commitment to extremely high professional ethical standards and compliance
  • Strong working knowledge of SAP BPC/BI and skill sets for data-driven decision making and to realize operational excellence for enterprise financial operations
  • Ability to mentor and nurture talent to create a high-performing team
