Job summary

The Field Service Engineer will be responsible for providing technical support and assistance to customers in the field. This role involves troubleshooting, repairing, and maintaining equipment or machinery at customer sites.

Responsibilities
  • Conduct on-site installation, commissioning, servicing, training, and maintenance.
  • Identify, analyze, and repair product failures, install new components and parts.
  • Provide service and technical interface between customer and company.
  • Assist engineering with Factory Acceptance Test (FAT), and installation prep work.
  • Advise customer on operation, maintenance, and modifications.
  • Provide expert advice to customers regarding equipment operation, maintenance, and possible system modifications.
  • Demonstrate a high level of integrity, professionalism, and the ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Communicate with management and the end user to help implement appropriate resolutions in a timely manner.
  • Provide regular updates to the Service Manager to ensure timely handling of all open jobs.
  • Collaborate closely with the Customer Service Team to ensure high levels of customer satisfaction.
  • Respond to phone support requests as assigned.
  • Analyze problems and determine appropriate solutions either individually or collaboratively as part of a team.
  • Promote and sell value-added services, including spare parts, system upgrades, and service contracts, during customer visits or when opportunities arise.
  • Submit accurate, detailed reports in a timely manner. Respond promptly to all customer service issues.
  • Support engineering with ongoing product development and improvement projects.
  • Take initiative to stay current with emerging technologies and equipment updates.
  • Any other duties as assigned.
