The F&B Guest Services Executive supports the Bar Manager in the day-to-day operations of Portman’s Bar, ensuring a seamless, warm, and engaging guest experience. This role leads and develops the service team while maintaining high service standards in a premium bar environment known for its cocktails, afternoon tea, and refined lounge ambience.
Role & Responsibilities:
Team Leadership & Operations:
- Lead, train, and motivate service staff (servers, hosts, bar assistants) to deliver exceptional and professional bar/lounge service.
- Conduct pre-shift briefings and ensure team members are informed about daily specials, seasonal cocktails, promotions, and service expectations.
- Monitor staff performance, provide coaching and feedback, and support performance appraisal discussions.
- Foster a positive, guest-centric, and collaborative work environment.
- Oversee daily bar operations including opening/closing procedures, lounge setup, table arrangements, and service flow.
- Coordinate with the bar team and kitchen to ensure smooth communication and timely delivery of beverages and food items.
Guest Experience:
- Deliver attentive, personalized, and memorable service in line with luxury hospitality standards.
- Maintain an active presence on the floor to connect with guests, anticipate needs, and ensure satisfaction.
- Handle guest inquiries, feedback, and complaints professionally, escalating issues when necessary.
- Support initiatives to enhance guest engagement, beverage experiences, and overall ambience of the bar.
Compliance & Administration:
- Monitor stock levels of service equipment (glassware, bar tools, condiments) and ensure timely replenishment.
- Uphold all hygiene, safety, and sanitation standards in accordance with Singapore Food Safety and Workplace Safety guidelines.
- Track and report daily sales, guest counts, bar incidents, and operational updates.
- Assist the Bar Manager in implementing SOPs, service refinements, and training programmes.
Requirements:
- Minimum 3 years of experience in F&B service, preferably in a bar, lounge, or upscale restaurant setting, with at least 1 year in a supervisory or team leader role.
- Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent guest service abilities with a passion for hospitality and a good appreciation for beverages and bar operations.
- Proficient in POS systems and basic Microsoft Office (Excel, Word).
- Highly organized, proactive, and able to excel in a fast-paced environment.
- Willing to work rotating shifts, weekends, and public holidays.
- Possesses a valid Basic Food Hygiene Certification.
