About the job Equity Strategist / Analyst

Summary Job Description

Working directly for the CIO within the CIOs research and analyst team, the jobholder will be responsible for identifying opportunities to express macro thematic views via single name equities or equity baskets as a complement to Modular's global macro strategy focused on FX and Rates in liquid APAC markets. The successful candidate should either have specialist country knowledge in China, India, or Korea, or a regionally relevant sector expertise.

Requirements

The successful candidate will have:

• At least 3 years' experience working in a comparable role in a regulated financial institution.
• Experience of generating and proposing equity investment strategies to a senior PM or CIO, ideally in a Long/Short portfolio context.
• Ability to translate macro views into actionable equity strategies.
• Experience of assisting with sizing, risk management and implementation timing of investment strategies.
• Demonstrable track record as an Equity Analyst or Strategist.
• Excellent understanding and personal interest in macroeconomics and geopolitics.
• Bachelors or Masters degree with a relevant major from a top academic institution.
• In depth specialist country knowledge in China, India, Japan, and/or Korea, or coverage experience in one or more of the regionally relevant industry sectors across these markets in Asia.
• Highly analytic with necessary coding and data handling skills to perform independently and at scale.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Candidate with a relevant professional or academic qualification, or formal analyst training will be preferred.
• Self-starter with excellent communication skills.
