Job description

At Canossaville Preschool, we believe in forming the hearts and minds of children so that they will be empowered‑learners and compassionate leaders. To achieve this, we believe in having close partnerships with our families and stakeholders of the child so that he/she will receive holistic care and education.

Being part of the preschool team, you will nurture children of diverse backgrounds and needs through providing integrated and differentiated learning experiences. You will engage and partner parents and various community partners to extend children’s learning beyond the classroom. You will also grow reflectively and professionally as an educator through in‑house and external trainings, workshops and conferences.

Responsibilities
  • Plan and implement integrated/inclusive lessons (in accordance with centre’s policies and framework) to meet the needs of diverse learners.
  • Create stimulating and engaging learning environment that promotes holistic learning.
  • Create a safe learning environment and provide the best possible care to children under their charge.
  • Engage in collaborative co‑planning and co‑teaching with the assigned Early Intervention (EI) Educators.
  • Observe and document children’s learning. Work with class teachers to showcase children’s work to make learning visible.
  • Work with and support the CPS Team in enhancing the quality of children's educational experiences.
  • Be responsible for all aspects of classroom/behaviour management and carry out routine care duties to ensure safety and hygiene of the children.
  • Foster respectful, responsive and reciprocal interaction with each child.
Working in Teams
  • Work collaboratively with EI Educators and Allied Health Professionals to ensure recommended strategies are carried out.
  • Participate actively during team meetings with Preschool Teachers, Allied Health Professionals and EI Educators.
Health, Safety and Nutrition
  • Adhere to operational functions and SOPs pertaining to children’s care and well‑being to meet health, safety and nutrition and hygiene standards and expectations of the programme.
Collaboration with Stakeholders
  • Establish trusting and respectful partnerships with parents and families.
  • Update pictures and videos on learning platform on a weekly basis for families to access the learning journey of their children in school.
  • Co‑facilitate and participate in implementing collaborative efforts amongst families and community stakeholders.
  • Participate and contribute to fostering effective and collaborative work teams in the class and school.
Professional Development
  • Engage in continuous professional learning and reflective practice to promote self‑development.
Minimum Education and Qualification Required for the Position
  • Diploma in Pre‑school Education Teaching (DPT) / Diploma in Early Childhood Care & Education (DECCE)/Diploma in Child Psychology and Early Education/Diploma in Early Childhood Education (DPTL)/Diploma in Early Childhood Studies/Degree in ECCE.
  • Good command of English with at least GCE ‘O’ Level B4 in English.
  • Candidates completing Early Childhood Education related diploma course within 6 months may apply.
Technical Skills and Competencies
  • Classroom management skills (classroom leadership, classroom management and organisation).
  • Good knowledge of curriculum and instruction.
  • Ability to organise learning activities that provide for the holistic development of the child.
  • Ability to arouse children's interest in learning and sustain their curiosity to explore and learn through the creation of a safe and stimulating environment.
