A leading electronics manufacturing company in Singapore is seeking an Engineering Assistant I to support product quality and enhance manufacturing processes. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of NITEC/Diploma in Electronics or Mechanical Engineering and at least 1 year of experience in a relevant field. Responsibilities include interfacing with manufacturing teams, monitoring quality issues, and participating in continuous improvement projects, employing knowledge of ESD control. Engineering Assistant I
Job Responsibilities
  • Support Product Quality Engineering on product quality issues, including submission of regular quality reports to meet customer expectations and to support the closure of CAPA and CCN.
  • Support Supplier Quality Engineering on supplier quality issues, including consolidation of quality records to support the closure of SCAR.
  • Interface with manufacturing personnel to drive for continual improvement in product quality and manufacturing process.
  • Monitor, assess customer returns and work on corrections, corrective and preventive to improve product quality and manufacturing process.
  • Perform manufacturing process / ESD audits on the manufacturing line.
  • Support the plant in terms of ESD gantry access.
  • Interface with ESD vendor in providing support for faulty ESD gantry.
  • Obtain calibration quotation and arrange to send ESD equipment and/or other equipment/tools/machines out for calibration/re‑calibration.
  • Request to document the calibrated ESD equipment and/or other calibrated equipment/tools/machines with the Calibration Coordinator.
  • Support in all 1st‑party, 2nd‑party and 3rd‑party audits.
  • Organize and actively participate in internal audits (such as manufacturing process and ESD audits) where applicable and necessary.
  • Actively participate and support in customer and supplier audits where applicable and necessary.
  • Manage, coordinate and actively participate in all regulatory body audits and statutory organization inspections.
  • Support Engineer and/or Manager to collaborate with cross‑functional teams (such as engineering, manufacturing, production, materials, store, etc.) in order to meet product quality deliverables and customer specifications, requirements and expectations.
  • Support Engineer and/or Manager on non‑conformance management, monitor customer returns, process control and monitoring, supplier quality management, and regulatory standards compliance.
  • Support Engineer and/or Manager and/or CFT on supplier‑related quality concerns and work with supplier to eliminate or reduce defective parts/components/materials in PCBA and Box Build operations.
  • Support Engineer and/or Manager on all activities and deliverables associated with MRB.
  • Assist and collaborate with other departments/sections on departmental/sectional improvement projects to improve productivity, eliminate operational waste and increase efficiency of work.
  • Participate in continuous improvement projects.
  • Assist and support the immediate superior and Plant appointed Management Representative (MR) to drive continuous improvement initiatives and strategies within the department/section through CAPA, Change Control, Lean Six Sigma (LSS), Kaizen and Mini‑company approaches.
  • Other roles, responsibilities and duties as assigned in Corporate and Plant management system documentations, such as in Plant adopted procedures and work instructions.
Job Requirements
  • Minimum NITEC / Diploma in Electronics / Mechanical Engineering or equivalent.
  • Minimum 1 year experience in electronics manufacturing environment or related field.
  • Knowledge of manufacturing processes and ESD control or in the related field preferred.
  • Knowledge of manufacturing in PCBA environment or in related field, and application of associated IPC standards preferred.
  • Experience in operating Agile PQM, Agile PLM, NCMR, Oracle and MRB is preferred.
  • Knowledge of Quality Tools, problem solving skills is preferred.
  • Proficient in MS Office applications (i.e. Excel, Words and PowerPoint) and Google Looker Studio.
  • Application of Artificial Intelligence (AI) and automation works.
