Job description
What the role is:

As an Engineer/ Senior Engineer/ Lead Engineer for Instrumentation & Control , you may be deployed to one of the following teams in the Water Supply (Plants) Department to manage and develop Singapore’s water resources:

  • Water Treatment Plants – This team is responsible for maintaining instruments in the water treatment plant, including the computer‑based system and PLC.
  • MEICA – This team is responsible for managing contracts related to ICA equipment to ensure works performed by contractors/consultants are executed according to objectives and within budget.
  • Project Management – This team is responsible for planning, design and manage WSP upgrading and expansion projects to ensure the timely implementation, reliable operation, ease of maintenance and safety at the WSP projects so as to safeguard adequate water supply to meet Singapore’s future water demand.
Work Locations:

You will be considered for deployment to one of the following work locations:

  • Water Treatment Plants – Bedok Waterworks, Tuas South Desalination Plant, Tuas Desalination Plant, Chestnut Avenue Waterworks, Lower Seletar Waterworks
  • MEICA – Environment Building
  • Project Management – Environment Building, Johor River Waterworks Project office (Kota Tinggi, Malaysia)
What you will be working on:
MEICA
  • Lead, plan and implement maintenance activities for Instrumentation, Control and Automation (ICA) equipment to ensure reliability in supporting operational requirements.
  • Manage and attend to troubleshooting and breakdown maintenance, including after office hours if required.
  • Regular physical site work activities such as checking or troubleshooting or fault investigation for plant or MEICA roles. Attending site walks during the project construction stage for project roles.
  • Manage ICA equipment assets and spares policies according to requirements.
  • Keep abreast of new technologies to enhance reliability and improve productivity.
Project Management
  • Plan, design (Preliminary and Detailed) and manage Water Supply (Plants) Department upgrading and expansion projects to ensure timely implementation, reliable operation, ease of maintenance and safety.
  • Plan, design and call quotations and tenders related to ICA equipment and capex projects.
  • Manage contracts related to ICA equipment to ensure works performed by contractors/consultants are executed according to objectives and within budget.
  • Ensure delivery of projects within budget and meet users' requirements.
  • Ensure project completion according to planned schedule.
  • Ensure projects are delivered in accordance with technical specifications.
  • Work closely with departments, consultants and contractors throughout the course of work.
