Key Responsibilities
1. Site Supervision and Execution
  • Lead and coordinate technicians during maintenance, inspection, and troubleshooting work.

  • Plan and execute site activities safely, efficiently, and in compliance with client and regulatory requirements.

  • Read and interpret electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and loop drawings.

  • Liaise with clients, engineers, and OEM representatives to resolve issues and ensure proper handover.

2. Electrical, Control and Instrumentation Maintenance
  • Maintain and troubleshoot:
    • Fire pump control panels, MCCs, and starter circuits (diesel and electric)
    • Detection and deluge valve control panels, suppression and alarm systems
    • Instrumentation devices such as flow switches, pressure transmitters, solenoids, relays, and detectors
    • Power and control cabling, including armored, screened, and industrial-grade cables with proper termination, shielding, and grounding

  • Source and replace faulty components such as contactors, relays, breakers, and sensors.

  • Carry out function testing, insulation checks, and verification after repairs.

  • Support site testing and commissioning of fire and safety systems.

3. Compliance and Safety
  • Enforce safe work practices and ensure compliance with AWSHPP or equivalent certification.

  • Prepare or review risk assessments, method statements, and permit-to-work documentation.

  • Maintain proper isolation and grounding discipline.

  • Ensure compliance with NFPA, SS, IEC, and OEM standards.

4. Reporting and Documentation
  • Prepare clear service reports, inspection checklists, and technical findings.

  • Maintain records of OEM certifications, calibration data, and maintenance logs.

  • Support root cause analysis and recommend reliability improvements.

5. Team Development
  • Guide and train technicians in troubleshooting, wiring standards, and safety procedures.

  • Promote teamwork and continuous learning across electrical and fire-safety teams.

Qualifications and Requirements
  • Diploma in Electrical Engineering, Marine Electrical Technology, or equivalent trade certification.

  • 8 to 15 years of hands‑on experience in marine, offshore, or heavy industrial electrical systems.

  • Strong knowledge of:
    • Armored cable terminations, screening, grounding, and bonding
    • Motor control systems (AC/DC, direct-on-line, star-delta, soft-starter)
    • PLC or relay‑logic control systems (troubleshooting or programming is an advantage)
    • Instrumentation and automation devices (switches, transmitters, solenoids, detectors)

  • Proven ability to read schematics and source components for field repairs.

  • OEM or manufacturer training and certification are highly valued.

  • Familiar with NFPA, SS, and IEC standards for fire and electrical safety.

  • AWSHPP certification (or equivalent) required before site deployment.

  • Able to travel and work at client sites within Singapore and the region.

  • Strong leadership, communication, and fault‑finding skills.

Preferred Backgrounds
  • Marine electrical supervisor or senior marine electrician seeking onshore work

  • Offshore maintenance electrician or instrumentation technician with control experience

  • Industrial maintenance technician familiar with MCC and control systems
