Role Overview
As a Business Development Director, you will play a pivotal role in growing our consulting business by identifying new opportunities, developing client relationships, and leading the sales process from prospecting to contract closure.
You’ll work closely with consulting and marketing teams to craft tailored solutions that address client challenges in operations, transformation, and performance improvement. This role combines strategic sales, client advisory, and market development.
Key Responsibilities
Sales & Revenue Growth
- Drive business development efforts to acquire new clients and expand existing accounts.
- Own the sales cycle end-to-end—from lead generation to proposal and negotiation.
- Conduct strategic discovery meetings with senior executives to uncover improvement needs.
- Develop customized proposals and scopes in collaboration with consultants.
- Secure signed engagements aligned with business targets.
Market Expansion & Lead Generation
- Identify key sectors and segments aligned with our consulting offerings.
- Build a strong and qualified pipeline through direct outreach, referrals, industry events, and social platforms.
- Establish relationships with industry associations and partners for market visibility.
Client Relationship & Account Management
- Serve as the primary liaison for key client relationships.
- Nurture long-term partnerships and explore cross‑selling or upselling opportunities.
- Ensure smooth transitions between sales and delivery teams.
Proposal Leadership & Value Communication
- Translate client needs into compelling value propositions and ROI-based proposals.
- Participate in strategy formulation and business case development.
- Present solutions in a way that aligns with client decision‑making styles and priorities.
Internal Collaboration & Thought Partnership
- Partner with consultants, delivery, and marketing teams to align go‑to‑market strategies.
- Provide market feedback to inform service development and positioning.
- Support the onboarding of junior BD or marketing team members if needed.
Qualifications & Experience
Required:
- Minimum 7–10 years of B2B business development experience, ideally in consulting, professional services, or transformation sectors.
- Proven track record of closing deals in enterprise or mid‑market segments.
- Strong consultative selling skills and experience engaging C‑level stakeholders.
- Excellent communication, presentation, and proposal development capabilities.
- Comfortable navigating complex, multi‑stakeholder sales cycles.
Preferred:
- Exposure to Lean, Six Sigma, TPM, Kaizen™, or operational excellence methodologies.
- Familiarity with industries such as manufacturing, healthcare, logistics, or infrastructure.
- Understanding of solution selling and value‑based consultative engagements.
- Familiarity with CRM systems, BD dashboards, and sales funnel management.
