Job description

Roles & Responsibilities

SDE

• Supervise ongoing projects and assist in design office i.e. resolve all technical issue
• Assist in all AC jobs/projects/contract
• Review all the design/checking of calculations for the company
• Represent the company, advise the same and act on its behalf to enable the company to perform its contractual obligations for the projects, as spelt out in the contract documents
• Act on behalf of the company to maintain reputation and goodwill with the clients
• Assist the Managing Director in subsequent tendering of projects and other contracts including but not limited to government projects, private projects, overseas projects
• Attend all site meetings with clients, contractors, QP Design and relevant authorities on matters related to the projects
• Attend meetings with Managing Director on regular basis with the view to report on matters related to the projects and assist in the resolution of issues which may affect the performance of the company in discharging its contractual obligations to the clients
• Promote the employer’s profile and capabilities in the procurement of projects and business development
• Be a management representative of the company for both site and office projects
• Review the design/checking of calculations
• Carry out planning, design drafting, cost estimate etc for the company’s project
• Prepare proposal and performance on tendering works for Consultancy
• Oversee authority’s submission and update of each project
• To cover duties for other Senior/ Design engineers
• Assist in technical design and drafting
• Any other ad-hoc duties as assigned by superior

Criteria

• Senior Design Engineer (SDE) shall be an engineer in the civil/structural discipline with at least a degree recognized by the Professional Engineers Board of Singapore.
• Minimum 5 to 10 years of relevant experience in Civil & Structural design consultancy practice for building & infrastructure projects.
• Conversant with euro codes or local codes and authority submission procedures.
• Good experience in geotechnical works design will be an advantage.
• Have good knowledge of the various engineering design software especially Staad Pro, Tekla Structural Designer and Plaxis.
• Excellent interpersonal, good written and verbal communication skills.

DE

• In charge of C&S design and checking for all QP Design and AC projects in Head Office, including building and infra structural works.
• Assist Technical Director to oversee the whole design progress from design requirements, structural scheming, calculations, drawings, authority submissions and site inspection until completion of construction works, and solve all technical issues encountered.
• Liaise and coordinate with Clients, Consultants and Contractors for design requirements and technical matters.
• Attend design coordination meeting and construction progress meeting during design and construction period, and report matters related to projects and assist in solution of issues.
• Assist periodic inspection team in identification of building defects and rectification proposals.
• Assist QP (Supervision) teams in design and review of the Contractor’s design & submissions.
• Assist for Tendering Projects on technical support including design proposal and specifications to facilitate the cost estimation for tender submissions.
• Act on behalf of the company to maintain reputation and goodwill with the clients to enable the company to perform its contractual obligations for the projects.
• Any other ad-hoc duties as assigned by superior

Criteria

• Design Engineer (DE) shall be an engineer in the civil/structural discipline with at least a degree recognized by the Professional Engineers Board of Singapore.
• At least 6- 8 years of relevant experience on Civil & Structural projects.
• Able to problem solve and manage projects.
